In an area below the surface of Hueco Mundo's desert lies a habitat for mindless Hollows. A place if it were to be located in the Human World would be seen as an Evil Forest of some sort. The Menos forest, naturally congested by monsters in their unique variety of forms and sizes, hiding from higher class predictors and the likes. For some reason, the peace and order of the forest will soon be fouled up by unknown bodies.

Standing there and staring at the data floating across the computer screen before her, Ethririel frowned minutely. The shinigami woman was in the middle of a small wooden shack, hastily constructed for her to set up the monitoring devices and machines now surrounding her. While intense numerous the machines seemed, the most important one was the one average monitor screen that held her attention now.

As she was, Ethririel cut a noble figure, her entire body covered in a dyed-white dress carefully styled not to disguise her charming figure. Her brown hair neatly arranged into a tight single plait, the ponytail fell over her spine to the small of her back. The overt high peaks beneath the dress rose and fell in matching rhythm with her breathing, complimenting her small waist below underneath which her pert bottom stood out symmetrically.

Ethririel had spent exactly sixteen days in this covert operation for the division, electing to take point in testing the hollows in this core region of the Menos Forest where Menos Grande on the verge of breaking through the bottleneck to becoming Adjucha resided. Her research included, among other things, trying to find a way to simulate the domination that takes place amongst the numerous souls trapped in the Menos Grande.

If she could tap into the strength that the soul exerts to become the governing one and employ that strain into modified technological weapons aimed at arrancar, perhaps Ethririel would be able to momentarily suppress that strength. In such an instance, the most likely result would be those suppressed souls resuming their struggle from the arrancar’s Menos Grande days and forcing said arrancar into an induced mindless, but berserk state with only basic instincts available and nothing pertaining to reasoning.

Unfortunately, her test results according to the data appearing in her front indicated that the serum created only had manageable success against arrancars below the fourteenth número rank. At that rank or above that, it was straight up useless and this was the source of Ethririel's displeasure. At the project’s current standing, then it was unhelpful to her but definitely useful those lower ranking members of the division in their confrontations against lower-ranking arrancar.

Of course, making the serum was expensive enough to provide only very few drops after days of distilling. In addition, Ethririel suspected that it could only work on one arrancar once, before the serum actually strengthens that strain of the dominant soul to an even better state than it was before the serum’s use.

Ethririel grumbled but reached for her zanpakutō on the table with her left hand. Her right hand pocketed the four vials of her serum along with the flash drive that contained the details, procedures, and results of her experiment. Finished with the place as she was, she proceeded to activating the self-destruct sequence earlier encoded into the shack’s main control system before walking away from place, heading out to the middle regions of the Menos Forest.

As she strolled off, Ethririel covered her head with the hood of her dress, which was a personally modified version of a typically black reiatsu-concealing robe. Thus, when the shack exploded minutes later, Ethririel was far from it and felt invisible among the few hollows she came across. While she could have killed them all, her mission here was done and it never included killing hollows for the sake of simply killing them. If they were going to die, it was only as aid to her research.

Her apartment in Las Noche felt emptier than a crypt. She could no longer sit and watch the walls, no matter how prettily the workers painted them. Time flowed like cement. She stared at the wall clock as though it displayed onscreen entertainment of a movie. From time to time she realized her head found it's ways to the clock for it was her only companion at the moment. A minute had passed since she last checked an hour ago, or so it seemed.

Lying there on her bed with nobody to converse with, no chaos in the realm, no single member of the order of assassins available to rub minds with since they all embarked on discrete missions for months, practically tortured the queen with ceaseless thoughts of which most of the times were baseless.

"Go to the wandenreich, enslave the soldats and whoever attempts to obstruct you. Become the ruler of both realms."

She began to drift into an unpleasant daydream or was it a paranoid fantasy? So hard to tell what was what at the moment but she didn't care. It helped to pass the time and she wasn't one for entertaining herself.

It didn't take long before a wooden rapping-like noise reverberated on her door which forcefully jolted her mind back to reality. A bit surprised as to who could be knocking on the door, momentarily prevented her from responding at first. But then the tapping sound grew louder with much more tenacity and force.

"Quit hammering on my door already. Who are you; Woodpecker?" She said in an attempt to forestall further ruckus from the knocks.

"My queen, I've got a distressing news coming from sources at the Menos forest. Please may I come in?"

"At your own time."
she said uninterestedly as she sat in an upright position while using her hands to bundle to the front of both sides of her shoulders the hairs that fell down behind her like a million strands of black filaments.

Soon after, the hinges of the door creaked as the figure pushed open the door to bring to sight his presence. It was Xeusin.
Image

An Arrancar of great posture. Standing nearly seven feet tall, his height towered over many. Boasted a light skin that seemed slightly parched from the dry air of Hueco Mundo. Always flaunting and seen in his trench-coat, glasses, and hat made him the most uniquely dressed Arrancar in the entire Las Noche.

"My queen, our scouts spotted a wrecked building in flames at a concealed location deep withing the forest."

"I made inquiries but no one seems to have knowledge of who or what owns the destroyed building, or how it got there in the first place."

"I perceive trouble my queen. So I decided to notify you before I gather some Arrancars in the Quarters to go and check it out, pronto."

"No, do not take such line of action. I'll handle the situation myself."

"You may excuse yourself after you've drop the intel note on my desk,"
said Anya.

Then she allowed Xeusin to exit the room before jumping off the bed in excitement. She felt pumped, more alive than she had ever thought possible. All the mundane thoughts had been muted and all there was to know about was this moment.

In one adrenaline fuelled warrior-yell she leapt into midair not minding the ceiling fan above her. In that moment, the smile that cracked her face hadn't been seen for a while; sinister, wild, and wry. Finally something to take her mind and body off the remorseless jaws of boredom.

Few hours later she would be seen walking within the thick dark forest of Menos-grande, clad in her favourite Arrancar jacket and white pleated skirt. Her majestic steps routed for the heart of the forest, since it was within the proximity of that axis that lies the exit doorway from the forest. So she felt the need to begin her search from that area. Meanwhile, knowing fully well suppressing her Reiryoku to the very least for the sake of the lives of hollows within the forest was key, Anya made sure she didn't cause unnecessary tension amongst the dwellers of forest by reducing the voluming of her Reiryoku to the lowest level possible.

From the intel provided, something or someone owned the place and could be responsible for the explosion, since no single hollow was able to identify who or what it was. It was at that time Anya came to a conclusion that perhaps the suspect was well skilled in the art of deception or stealth and must not be taking lightly.

By the time she was almost at the heart of the forest, Anya heightened her pulses in an attempt to fish out the ghost hiding in the dark. Not more than two minutes after the volume of her pesquisa was increased, she picked up traces of an unstable Reiryoku reading coming from about 200 meters in the same direction she had taken. Her suspicion grew taller. It was when she got to a distance she felt her voice could travel into the ears of the unknown figure, she called out with a raised voice.

"I know you're out there!!!"

"Disregard every thought that your presence is hidden. Maybe to these lowlifes, but not me."

She paused briefly before saying

"Reveal yourself, loner!!! Do not force my hands."

Seeing that Ethririel was not a denizen of the Hueco Mundo, the knowledge did skip her mind on how extensively large the forest underneath the bowels of the hollow abode truly was. After hours of walking, Ethririel was yet to reach the forest’s heart and entertained herself hunting whichever unfortunate hollow her brown eyes saw.

Thus it happened that the thirteenth division member was soon dashing from one place to another on her sandals in a zigzag pattern, obliterating hollows of varying levels from the lowest caste you can find in the human world easily, to Menos Grande slumbering around like dumb living mountains. As she breezed through the forest, a bird’s eye view of the region around her would show multiple vanishing particles of hollows, caused by Ethririel swiftly finding—and taking out—a target before the last couple were done evaporating into nothingness.

Soon though, the novelty of keeping a kill streak wore off after nearly eighty victims could not attempt to put up decent resistance. Heck, she kept her zanpakutō sheathed through it all and only used her left fist, but even that wasn’t handicap enough to help her break a sweat. With a defeated lament, Ethririel straightened her dress, her facial expression showing no sign of the near-workout she just did before pulling out a small music player, a gift from Vimaro.

She connected her Bluetooth Headset, which she produced from within the folds of her dress, but while placing it on her head, shifted one side so it rested on her face, before the ear. Through the other ear, Isak Danielson’s ‘Ending’ echoed solemnly before Ethririel tapped next. As if in mockery, Halsey’s ‘Without Me’ followed and the playlist progressed through a series of sad songs by Lewis Capaldi, each worse than the last and Ethririel's mood soured noticeably.

“Stupid Teryani,” she muttered, cussing at her cousin’s ex-girlfriend who dumped his boring ass and caused him to flood the playlist with weird songs before it became hers. Ethririel had always planned to change the songs but never got to doing it, but this time, she keyed in a reminder on the smartwatch of her left wrist, hidden by the sleeve of her dress.

After moments of searching, she finally settled for Ed Sheeran’s song with the Khalid dude that Erynion disliked, ‘Beautiful People’. Putting the song on repeat, she finally melded into its easy vibes and a satisfied smile lit her face as she hummed along. Sadly, the good mood lasted only past two repetitions.

She heard the voice; feminine, loudly charging orders and the smile vanished, replaced by a scowl. Ethririel did not bother stopping though. Instead, she continued walking on, even increasing the volume of her music player in apparent lack of concern. Here in Hueco Mundo, she had no superiors and took instructions from no one. If the owner of the voice found her action displeasing, she could go do her worst. Nevertheless, Ethririel tapped a button on her watch while keeping her senses up.

It was downright provoking to imagine been ignored by the figure approaching from a distance. The suspect wore a carefree garment like it was nobody's business; hopping like a rabbit in distress. Anya assumed the trees scattered in different areas of the forest were responsible for the zigzag pattern of movement the suspect adopted.

The trees grew so thickly that there were no undergrowth at all. Its branches protruded like vines up towards the sky and brushed the nearby sister trees like paintbrushes. Without a doubt Anya felt disgusted by such act but intentionally maintained tranquil frame of mind for she knew nothing about the figure in a distance.

"Very well then,"
she said to herself as she slowly genuflected her right knee while her left hand reached to grab a handful of some remnants of dead roots before returning back to her previous standing position. Eyes immensely focused on the incoming Reiryoku signature, without any doubt Anya could now effortlessly discern the figure's presence the further it came closer.

Just as the suspect reached a 30 meters distance, Anya would sidestep to her right, away from the huge tree that shadowed her from view, and without mustering up the need to aim due to her ever able mastery in pinpointing her target(s) with her pesquisa, Anya would briefly poise herself then simultaneously flick a ball of bala with her right index finger that would bullet towards the target in an alarming speed. A bala fired by a woman of Anya's caliber wasn't to be taking for granted for it held an extremely potent burn damage because of the pool of reiatsu it fed from, and wouldn't hesitate to bore a hole right through the target if not met by a proper defense. Not been carried away by the shot, Anya immediately geared up for what was to come afterwards.

Ethririel sauntered forward, feeling no resistance or obstacle in her path. Already, she was on the highest alert possible as she made observations of the circumstances surrounding the voice. The conclusion was not satisfying because it would take a strong person, and a stronger sense of perception to sense her through the reiatsu cloaking fabric of her dress.

Now while it was also possible that her killings a half hour ago gave the voice’s owner her general area, Ethririel thought it improbable that the arrancar system would have such rapid response attitude for a washed up place like the Menos Forest. Whatever the reason though, it took nothing away from the fact that that authoritative voice belonged to someone of clout to emit so much confidence and expected compliance with that tone.

Just as she reminded herself to be more careful after blowing off the person, Ethririel's eyes narrowed into slits and she took a right step forward. Her left hand tilted her sheathe at her hip point to direct it ahead just as her right hand clasped the hilt and freed the blade in a quick draw. Ethririel intercepted the bala with the flat of her sword, close to the sword’s guard before spinning clockwise on the right foot in front, at the same time leaning to her right side to allow the bala ball smoothly travel the length of her sword.

At the end of the twirl where she was facing the direction she started from, the bala ball rested on the tip of Ethririel's zanpakutō as she tapped into the momentum of her gyration to relay the ball back in the direction it came from with slightly more force than it came with. The speed of execution, from the draw of the blade to the bala’s re-routing, was such that when the ball of condensed reiatsu was halfway back, only then did the ring of steel from the sword’s draw sound out.

Ethririel channelled the remaining energy from the rotation into her left leg so that when it finally touched ground at the end of the spin, a muffled sound reverberated out and the ground beneath her foot shattered as Ethririel burst forth like a missile. In that instance, Ethririel's body became an unreal streak of white, as that single step was a fusion of her flash step and the propelling might of her physical strength pushing her to a greater speed than her usual standards.

As she travelled the path outlined by the bala, she stuck close to the ground almost as if she was gliding over the forest floor. The short distance that was less than forty metres vanished under the intense drive of Ethririel's approach and at the end, her upper body dipped lower before rising upwards to sweep her zanpakutō from her target’s bottom left to top right, creating an illusion of flowing water, all in one fluid motion.

Despite how simple it might seem, the danger was such that where the blade itself would supposedly split whatever it touches into two, the displaced wind it brought along would shred everything within three metres in front of the sword.

"If my voice will not buy your attention, bala will." So she thought before launching a cautionary ball of bala to achieve not one but two things. The first was to gain attention, and secondly test her target's physical parameters. Lo and behold she not only achieved both aims but was also gifted a few more information like what a newly opened store offering bonanza would do; buy two and get one free.

As the bala thrusted it's way towards it's intended target, the scorpion queen's eyes and senses harmonized to steal off data from the lady in the shadows. She first caught the sight of her target's face that was shadowed by some sort of veil. It was a female after all. The environment was dark but Anya managed to notice the oval frame of her enemy's face within the veil like covering and most definitely confirmed for herself the enemy had a feminine jawline.

In the next second, the adversary displayed a magnificent feat of which further proved her mastery in the art of Hakuda as she skillfully channelled the fired bala by making several coordinated steps with her feet while simultaneously commanding her hands and body to move in a rotational motion which sent the bala right back at Anya. In the spur of the moment, Anya's brows lifted in awe of the ingenious method her enemy used to return the bala thereby leaving her with no choice but to fend away her own attack.

Well, inasmuch as the moves of Anya's enemy were swift and precise, they were very much vivid and clear to the queen's eyes. Not slow, but yet lethargic enough for Anya to comfortably oversee what went down in a well detailed line of images. It was then Anya knew she was faster than the lady in the shadows, or so she thought. However just as the bala paced towards Anya, the trajectory of the bullet ball of energy was instantaneously registered in the queen's mind, so she only had to rest her body weight to her right side allowing the bala race passed her angrily. Doing that with her eyes fixated on the lady, and senses on utmost vigilance.

During that same interval, Anya's unbelievable sensory prowess radioed a convergence of a massive amount of kinetic energy around her enemy's feet signifying a strong imminent use of the said extremity, luckily for Anya who had prepared for such close quarter combat situations beforehand, instantaneously opened her already clenched fist in tandem to when the lady in the shadows was about to take flight. Just as she did, a considerably dense cloud of ash would come forth, covering over 10 meters in a flash.

The queen wasn't the type that boasted magnificent physical traits or skills, but her powers rested withing the divine prowess of her mind as the amount of data she could receive was enough to fill the memory of an advanced mapping computer, and was nigh capable of processing those information immediately. Her mind worked like the input and output pattern or method a central processing unit of a computer gets information as input and instantaneously gives out processed data as output. But then Anya's mind was still on a whole different scale compared to that.

The queen's assailant appeared slower than her, but then the ash cloud would further widening the speed gap between both combatants due to it's dense aura that could drastically hinder movements of victim(s) caught in it. But then the lady in the shadows came flying into the dense cloud performing a diagonal sword slash aimed to partition Anya's body in two. However, it would become evident that the slash would cut cleanly, because Anya had instinctively made use of the infamous Gemelos Sonido to appear two arms length to her assailant's behind, right before she began the sword slash which in turn left behind an actual copy of herself in the wake of the dense cloud.

In the blink of an eye, countless streams of bala would ceaselessly barrage their way towards her target at pointblank range like a stampede of bullet speed balls of energy covering an area of 15m. If successful, her adversary would be left with a mini-tsunami of bone piercing energy balls to deal with.

Nubes de Ceniza: (Reitsu Control Stat: B–B+)("ash Cloud") The user can grab some sort of object, any object with some mass, and snaps it between his/her fingers. while also mixng in some of one's reiatsu. The user then moves their hand sideways, creating ash. This makes the whole place very ashy and hard to see through and very hard to walk through because the ash is not light in weight, nor do they fall like confetti as they fly through the air then to the ground, landing on any object except the user, it is very viscous! (Viscous means dense.) The ash stays for about 6 posts after it has already been used, mid level technique

Bala Barrage: (Reitsu Control Stat: A–A+)
A barrage of Bala blasts, each of which being as strong as the next. These are also extremely fast and thus make a hard to avoid 'technique'. This is a moderately high-leveled Attack.

When she was halfway there, Ethririel witnessed a strange scene of ashen fog envelope the region where the bala she followed disappeared, preventing her from seeing how the bala forerunner was dealt with. Nevertheless, her momentum was such that altering a movement easily was nigh impossible and only at a great risk. On the plus side though, she packed enough thrust to pierce through the cloud like nail through cotton to carry out her attack.

Finally within range, Ethririel saw her assailant. A female arrancar as suspected, but that was all she noticed as she carried out her attack. The zanpakutō slashed cleanly through the arrancar, but Ethririel gleaned no measure of joy from the ‘successful’ hit. While her eyes convinced her that she scored a hit, Ethririel trusted her blade more and through it, felt nothing of the accustomed tinge that came from the evisceration of internal organs. In essence, the arrancar’s innards felt like a familiar void and the shinigami knew she’d been deceived by that hateful technique.

Clone… Even as she made the mental connection just as her sword forcefully created an emptiness before her from her earlier slash after shredding a portion of the ash cloud caught within its effect’s range, Ethririel took a half step forward with her left foot and stabbed with the sheath in her left hand.

As the scabbard pierced out at the space from the slash, she twisted her wrist and as if it were a key opening an entrance, the particles within two metres of her front collapsed into the point at sheath’s tip. That was when the first shots struck her back and Ethririel bit her lower lip to stifle a groan while Khalid sang about not fitting well in her ear as she planted her feet to steady herself then swept the scabbard horizontally to her left, turning to face the barrage now confirmed behind her.

Besides the first four shots that hit her, every bala ball headed her way arced towards the scabbard’s tip even before the zanpakutō’s casing finished its transit, compelled by the pull of the vacuum at its tip. By the time Ethririel properly faced her back and finished the sweep of her sheath so it angled to the ground at her side, all the remaining energy balls struck the ground and exploded, blowing a hole into it and sending debris in all directions.

Ethririel knew her weak points, one of which was her incapability to form spells for ranged attacks. Among the triplets, Erynion couldn’t be harmed and as her own reiatsu nature impeded spells, Gwilwileth reigned supreme and tortured Ethririel. In response, the first school of swordsmanship that she picked up was primarily to help her defend against her sister’s volleys. At her current sword mastery, defending against the arrancar’s barrage fell within her capabilities. Her speed though…

The explosion did not faze Ethririel because she already stepped forward and slashed downwards with her sword still left high from earlier. This time though, she used the blunt edge of her sword after subjecting it to a myriad of subtle twirls during the short turn around.

Again, the slash appeared as simple as the first attack, such that were someone standing side by side with Ethririel, he’d feel nothing dangerous from it. However, the arrancar directly in front of it, as well as everything within a ten metres triangular region of Ethririel's front would feel the immense pressure Ethririel redirected as if to complement the force of gravity. The attack was meant to smother more than tear up.

As the balls of energy obeyed their queen's command and paced speedily to puncture holes into the lady's body frame, Anya counted upon the renowned pestilence of such technique if applied at close range. However, she saw as the first four bala orbs hit the bull's-eye, which burnt out several dodge ball size portions of the fabric to cause injuries to the target due to exploding on impact. But as the carryover gang of bala rushed forward with hopes of achieving feats of their fortunate gang members, the queen's optic organs would swiftly catch the sight of an unfamiliar disturbance in the bala's point of compass.

Right on the spot, Anya unhesitatingly presumed that her adversary's intent was an unequivocal replica of the first time where with a few succession of steps, expertly sent her very own attack back to her, as such, didn't think twice before disappearing and appearing right behind her enemy in a single burst of sonido with one arm already positioned vertically.

Deducing and able to easily read her enemy's movement was quite satisfactory but Anya came to a realization that the swordsmanship skill of the lady in front of her was that of a specialist, hence plotted to do something about it before things got out of hand.

Meanwhile, it would happen to be that Anya dropped out of sight the moment she noticed the energy balls arced towards the hilt of her enemy's blade and blinked into reality right when the slash was at verge of completion. So also in tandem with the latter, the queen's palm would promptly give rise to a scintillating energy that would be thrown to hit the enemy by a single downward arm swing that the round off time of impact would go hand in hand with when the enemy concludes her own downward slash.

Due to the fact that the substance thrown doesn't actually cause damage or pain on impact, coupled with the sluggish pace with which the effects of the technique require before full manifestation, victim(s) sometimes find great difficulty comprehending or deciphering the dangers of such technique.

Nevertheless would there come to play another swift speed dash immediately after the aforementioned sparkle toss that would send Anya backwards to a 40 meters distance as she prepares to amass a potent quantity of energy in her fully stretched right hand while the left reached for the hilt of her blade to unsheathe it from its scabbard in preparation for the unknown.

Hueco's brillan:(Reitsu Control Stat: D–D+)("Hollows sparkle") The user can raise their hand or lower it and they evenly shape their reiatsu forming a little electromagnetic sparkle that isn't very big and throws it at the opponent. It is very swift and fast and if it hits or interacts with an object it channels throughout their whole body. Once touched it will follow "it" anywhere and remains for 10 seconds, in those ten seconds it numbs the body and makes it completely paralyzed. Barely does any damage. Mid level technique.

The bala balls within Ethririel's front view shattered into muffled energetic bursts on the forest ground after her attack forced them to the ground while around her, to her sides, the rest of the barrage pummelled the trees and ground. Together, both attacks cleared out a great portion of the surrounding ash cloud. Ethririel however, had no respite because once more, the arrancar escaped the attack as the lady no longer occupied her previous position.

In response though, Ethririel did not concern herself with trying to find her immediately. Rather, she stepped into shunpo and reappeared about fifteen metres to her right, only turning around at the end of her flash step outside the range of the ash cloud. When she looked for the arrancar, Ethririel's brow raised a fraction as she pursed her lips in annoyance after finding her. Why is she still running back?

Even as she asked herself the rhetorical question, her subconscious supplied a possible response about, perhaps, the arrancar’s close range inability and unwillingness to clash directly with her, as noticed after two exchanges. In both cases, the arrancar tapped into her now-confirmed superior speed to dodge and simultaneously attack again. Were it not for Ethririel's close combat reaction speed with her sword bordering on zenith levels, she might have turned out worse than just the sharp blows of the bala at her back.

It was as a response from both times that when the arrancar dodged again, Ethririel decided to vacate her position rather than try to figure out where the arrancar was going to retaliate from as both her back and the space above her were somewhat unguarded then. However, Ethririel realised now that the arrancar did appear behind her previous position but farther than expected.

She didn’t hit back?

Still pondering the question, Ethririel accepted that her current style of using the sword was never to touch the woman. She needed to change methods. As she agreed on that, Ethririel neatly drove her sword back into its sheath and reached for her ear to pull down the remaining part of the headset still singing into her mind so that the device hung on her slender neck. The arrancar’s movements demanded her total attention now.

Suddenly her hand froze after dropping the headset to her neck. Confusion entered her eyes as a numbing sensation reared its head in her body, rapidly holding it up and causing her to struggle to wrest back control of her body. “The f**k… when did she do this? Wait, did she attack before retreating?

Yet again Anya got a strange sensation which had an upsetting feel to it. A slight pinch in her neurological system of which Anya had sensed a while ago. It was first perceived during the first encounter with her enemy at close range, and has repeated itself as Anya maneuvered her way behind the lady in anticipation to the hazardous guess drafted in her mind before her enemy could execute a strike. A wild gamble which paid off as the trees in the direction of the slash felt the impact of the explosion from the redirected herd of bala in a matter of seconds.

"That's hollow blood" she said to herself as she had a fully charged cero in the palm of her left arm. At that time the lady had abandoned her previous area to mount in a 15 meter space to her right, for a moment the queen was lost in thoughts, battling with speculations that led to a concise decision; uncovering the mystery behind such feeling that came from her enemy.

Just as the cero got fully charged, with the feminine figure standing few meters more to the right side, and a full knowledge of the fact that her paralytic technique did well to make contact with her target, in an instant, the air around Anya would shift as she primed herself to engage her adversary. When the cero was at the verge of blasting away from her palm, she would tap into the highest level of her attainable speed and instantaneously appear above the lady in sight, allowing the cero to beam down it's target the instant Anya appeared, leaving little to no time for her opponent to completely slip way from its blistering might.

Ethririel eyed the arrancar even as she tried to reassess her speed based on the delivery of the paralysis strike. Her surprise did not cloud her judgement though because upon noticing the energy that the arrancar gathered, Ethririel reined in her strength and explosively channelled her might to force her muscles to move.

The thirteenth division member was aware that given more time, she could escape this hold. However, her opponent would definitely tap into her advantageous speed to eradicate the needed time and take advantage of her current lack of mobility. In such an instance, the Pheles woman did not bother with breaking out… completely. Rather, Ethririel shoved her energies fully into her right hand to break out.

Like an overflowing dam, almost the totality of Ethririel's strength now contained in her right arm broke through the clutch restraining it. Her right hand blurred as the dark canopy of branches and leaves above her brightened with the glaring lights of explosive energy. Cero!

Searing heat exploded and bore down on Ethririel who took advantage of her paralysis to balance herself amidst the descending chaos of cero while her zanpakutō flashed with one of the quickest draws she could attempt. Piercing above her whilst drawing upon every vestige of energy in her free arm, Ethririel's blade released a lethality that sundered the beam that struck down.

Her knee-jerk reaction reduced the sort of abolition that Ethririel could usually boast about, limiting its effects to merely tearing apart the cero an inch or two above her sword’s tip so that the energy parted to the sides. The burst that ensued wrecked the area with unbridled violence that lasted for seconds, burning even the debris to dust, after which the clearing dust revealed Ethririel still standing with her sword pointing skyward.

Ethririel's hood no longer existed, the entire outer cloth that she wore burnt off completely to reveal the sleeveless blue robe worn beneath while her hair darkened with burns in numerous places. Her fair skin deeply reddened after the sudden exposure to the explosion’s high temperature but escaped further injuries due to the lack of direct contact with the cero as well as the attack’s residue energy needing to first burn through the not-so-fragile material of her concealing robe. Fortunately, her headset survived with reparable damage.

During the time it took the cero to die down, Ethririel already mustered her energy to break out of the paralysis and even as she glared at arrancar’s direction, Ethririel knew it was futile to attempt rushing at her in revenge. She sheathed her sword once more while maintaining the grip as she tried to act through the dull pain now registering all over her body.

“Semesainamu, Asseiteki Guǎfù.” After speaking, a berserk power briefly radiated out imperiously from her before the zanpakutō’s black sheath broke into fragments. The pieces of the scabbard lightened into dull brown colours and gathered on Ethririel's forearms to form thin glove-like coverings. In her grip, the zanpakutō’s hilt lengthened backwards while the blade elongated forward until the total length surpassed seven feet with a spiral around the centre.

The Shikai’s appearance compelled Ethririel's immediate space to grow grave in sober solidity. Like a granite mountain as she twirled the glaive so that the sharp end of the handle pointed behind her at an upward diagonal and the blade’s tip rested mere inches from the ground, Ethririel stood towering even as the ruined earth beneath her collapsed under pressure.

The rambunctious screams from a tempered beam of cero reached out to a far-flung distance of the forest as it plummeted towards the earth and gorged away almost everything in its path, which in turn announced the existence of an open-ended hurlyburly to every creature within an earshot range. Succinct but unrestrained. The explosive jaws of the cero hollowed out an elephantine crater from the ground surrounding its target, but however failed to burn down the lady in sight.

Having confronted the lady in several occasions, Anya acknowledged the girl's sword skill in diverting most of her energy blasts so therefore didn't allow her thoughts to sit on the fence as she backtracked herself right after the blast by kicking the air underneath her feet twice which first of all propelled her upward at blistering speed, and then right back to her previous location where her eyes could keep track of her adversary.

The first thought that jumped into Anya's mind the moment her feet touched the ground was how the lady was still standing after all the bombardment. It begged so many questions but now wasn't the time to ponder on occurrences of little significance at that time, so she poised herself ones more with her blade clenched in her left hand.

Then she observed. In terms of appearance, it was difficult to give a 100% ocular description for it was a bit dark so completely registering the physical features was difficult, however Anya's nostrils picked a faint stench of burnt meat. ''She didn't escape it completely,'' so she thought as she believed perhaps the lady's skin got slightly burnt by the extreme heat from her cero. The thought of that alone made Anya's ears stand in attention as she gave a wry smile.

Soon after, the outpouring wave of Reiryoku discharged from the lady's essence stole Anya's interest even more. It then came to her realization for the first time since the start of the fight that she has been battling a Shinigami all along. A swift transformation that could hardly be captured with ordinary eyes intrigued the queen further more. The queen's eyes took note of every other radical and physical change that occurred as the Shinigami took on a strange fighting stance.

Meanwhile Anya used that moment to catch her breathe as she stood next to a tree on her right side. Her Reiryoku meter was very much in check, so was her well-being. The only factor that perturbed Anya's concern was her lack of staying power. A feat she continually builds to cement its place amongst most opponents with godlike level of indefatigability. She wasn't drained nevertheless. She only gave it a thought to replenish lost stamina from the rapid movements she performed a while back.

At that time the Shinigami's shikai was set in motion, Anya presumed the next line of action for the Shinigami may be a swift offensive centered sets of movements. Of course it proved logical that the probability of the said assumption was high judging from the stance and the need for activation, and so in preparation for that, Anya enjoined a Menos class hollow into the battle area. A tear in the fabric of space would occur 10 meters behind its summoner few moments after she had willed it into existence. The hollow would gradually step out of the garganta pathway with the instructions of its queen at the tip of its fingers.

The release of her Shikai seemed to keep the arrancar on edge because for the first time since she interrupted her journey, the arrancar did not launch any attack of sorts. Ethririel let out a small smile because the reprieve very much allowed herself to completely regain control of her after first adapting to the shockwave of the blast catching her in the middle. Fortunately, the paralytic spell pretty much kept a nailed through the energy storm.

As the arrancar woman watched her with a steady gaze, Ethririel did not bother taking the offensive because considering the speed feats the other woman displayed, attacking would only be Ethririel foolishly throwing herself into the arrancar’s scheme. Instead, when the space behind her opened to release a Menos, Ethririel gave up any idea of passively defending where she stood.

She raised her glaive a few inches above the ground before tapping the ruined earth with Asseiteki Guǎfù’s pointed hilt end. With a rumble, the forest floor within a near dozen metres diameter around Ethririel as a focal point sunk under the applied force. The pit that appeared reached a depth exceeding thirty metres as her voice floated upwards to reach the arrancar.

“Arrancar, since you won’t come, your grandma here will not accompany you anymore.” As Ethririel spoke teasingly, she struck the ground again with more power and forcefully compressed the earth upon itself to deepen the pit another seventy-something metres.

Before she began her actions, Ethririel already picked the direction towards the exit and so after reaching the bottom over hundred metres below the surface, she struck the wall in that direction and created an opening. As she saw it, what was the gain in fighting the arrancar with everything if she could easily travel through the ground? Albeit slower, it was safer in supposedly limiting the instances of more sneak attacks from the arrancar as well as the advantages the summoned Menos would bring to the fight.

Before the hollow under the influence of Anya's will could completely step out from the ruptured space, an approximately 12 meter radius of the earth's surface sunk to a depth near 30meters as the Shinigami used the newly transformed hilt end of her Zanpakutoū to tap the ground. A great tremor came forth abreast the submersion of the forest's floor. Trees, roots, branches and some other debris within the range of the crater sunk along with it. In spite of that, the hollow was left hanging at the exit of the garganta pathway as it was fortunate not to have completely exited the mouth of the pathway, sending just queen and the Shinigami into the belly of the earth.

Stupefied by that, Anya was momentarily left with thoughts of the mechanism behind the Shinigami's ability. Because before the hilt touched the earth, Anya felt the an uncontrolled portion of energy flow into the earth before it sunk.

''Does she control the earth? if yes, it seems she needs to first make contact. I have to rack up more info with my next move.''

As she briefly swam in a pool of thought, she heard the Shinigami vent out some words that triggered an instantaneous anger that slightly bent Anya's original plan and so she whispered some words to her own hearing while giving into gravity after kicking the air underneath her feet, jumping from left to right before
Image

Covering the distance between her and the Shinigami in the blink of an eye right after the second striking of the earth by the Shinigami. At the verge of making contact with the lady soul reaper, Anya would instantaneously transform into her hollow form right in front of the Shinigami. With the vast uproar in Reiatsu that accompanied Anya's release, the Shinigami would loose balance if a superior or equal spiritual force doesn't go against it. That alone justified the words that fled her lips beforehand to be ''Poison, Escorpión.''

Together with her release, Anya would unhesitatingly thrust her tails to sting the lady in her chest and lower abdomen in perfect synchrony with the time the summoned hollow would fire down a ball of lightning aimed at the Shinigami's head. The hollow acting only on Anya's will executed her commands superbly as it locked on the soul reaper's Reiatsu signature when blasting down the ball of lightning towards the Shinigami. Notwithstanding, Anya's senses were kept on high alert, fixated on the soul reaper's blade.

A glint flashed through Ethririel's eyes when she struck the ground the second time, before stepping backwards to the wall she intended on smashing through when the arrancar appeared before her. What the thirteenth woman feared most was the arrancar keeping her distance and she presenting herself in such close quarters was Christmas coming early for Ethririel.

Of course, if she allowed the arrancar’s speed freely harass her, then it was Ethririel presenting gifts for her opponent.

Unfortunately, before she merely started to move her zanpakutō still pinned to the ground, a dense outpour of spiritual energy descended on Ethririel as the arrancar changed into what should be her true form. Resurrección… crap! Even as she cursed, Ethririel felt significantly stiffened by the difference in their reiatsu levels, a difference she was truly only confirming now.

While lamenting her inability to project her own spiritual energy outwards to shield herself in an attempt to lessen the reduced mobility, Ethririel still found solace in how the spiritual energy within her simply remained within to give her a somewhat firm ground as two white flashes struck at her. Nearly immobilised as she was now, Ethririel could only afford to shake her wrists to place her glaive between the white flashes and her at a small angle away from a straight vertical line.

Ethririel knew her Shikai, and would bet her arm that this arrancar that was scared of engaging her in close quarters was incapable to pushing her back with any physical attack as long as Asseiteki Guǎfù was involved. However, brilliant blue light descended like divine retribution and Ethririel pulled the glaive from the ground.

Usually, Ethririel's Shikai boasted an absurd weight that was difficult to move around while it was comparable to a regular weapon as long as she wanted it so in her hands. She tapped into this nature of the weapon when she registered the three-pronged attacks executed by the arrancar by reining in the effect of its weight so that when the white flashes struck, they sent her flying. The force carried her away from the arrancar and her slight reiatsu crush as the lightning ball brushed past a mere two inches in front of Ethririel and fell upon where she previously stood.

Only then did Ethririel's brain finally realise that the white flashes were bony appendages of the arrancar’s Resurrección as the lightning ball landed on the ground before the arrancar at the beginning of a strange arc in Ethririel's direction before touching the ground caused it to explode. Ethririel was already far from the immediate blast radius as her back almost reached the end of the small pit, using the flat of her feet to slam into it before borrowing the force the force to rebound back at the arrancar’s direction even faster.

En route, Ethririel stabbed forward with the glaive’s over three feet of steel. Unleashing its weight previously withheld, its immense mass and cutting strength would meld together as if a meteor tore through space to rip a man-sized hole through everything in its path, including the bristling energy storm of the blasted lightning ball. Whistling sounds of the tiny wails of the overburdened atoms she went by would accompany Ethririel as she flew in, intent on separating the arrancar’s small mid-section from the wide bottom beneath.

Instead of Anya's tails to sink into the Shinigami's body, they met against the Shinigami's glaive. A remarkable level of swordsmanship exhibited once more by the soul reaper. It further dropped into Anya's thoughts that her opponent is one who can not be phased or trifled with in regards to sword skill, for she has proven herself countless of times by showcasing insane reflexes when it came to maneuvering her blade. So Anya made sure not to let her guard down when going against the Shinigami in close combat.

The Shinigami went flying as the queen struck fiercely with her twin tails of teardrops, which allowed the ball of lightning cannoned by the Hollow to miss its target thereby causing a mild uproar of lightning explosion. But before it could detonate, Anya retreated backwards, evading one or two logs of trees lying on her sides. Just as she did, she came to an understand that perhaps the Shinigami doesn't actually manipulate earth, because as things stood, right in the belly of the earth, an earth user would waste no time bending the said element to his/her liking. However that wasn't the case here, and that made Anya to draw to a conclusion that maybe, the Shinigami had no business with bending earth. Notwithstanding, Anya placed keen focus on her surroundings in case of any irregularities in other to avoid surprises. Surprises that may not come.

It was in that moment that Anya retreated that the Shinigami bolted forward, tearing through whatever it was that obstructed her, with a forward thrust that threatened to run right through the queen if nothing was done about it. Anya, an Espada gifted with acute senses, recognized the assailant's positioning, speed and energy the moment the soul reaper triggered the attack. And without needing to think further, as an act of instinctive reflex, Anya instantaneously applied two sonido moves the moment the blade of the Shinigami got within 5 meters to her person.

Before the drop of a hat, the first one took her to the side of the Shinigami's free arm (the one not holding the blade) while second was a burst of tremendous speed that bolted her towards the soul reaper while she accompanied the it with both hands and tails to strike all at once. Anya made sure the moment she evaded to the side, she had summoned every ounce of prowess within the reach of her telekinetic powers to hold onto the soul reaper's blade to keep it firm and difficult to moving. So that by the time she would smash into the soul reaper's body, the Shinigami would find difficulty returning her blade to defend or attack, since that happened to be the basis behind her survival, or perhaps not.

In so doing, should the Shinigami try to defend against the incoming blows with her free arm, Anya would not hesitate to use all 8 fingers to razor scratch the burnt body of the Shinigami, while her tails would gun for delicate parts of her target (the waist and back region). With the swiftness, timing and pattern of attack, the Shinigami would be startled at first which could further extend the success of Anya assault. If successful, the Shinigami would be immensely brutalized and find within herself an enormous volume of venom inside her system enough to make an old man suck his fingers in the next couple of seconds.

After a number of exchanges with the arrancar, Ethririel already confirmed that no matter what, the arrancar would never willingly meet her in a head-on collision. Every time that Ethririel attacked, the arrancar woman would dodge and then counter attack, a pattern that was yet to change. In that regard, even as she seemed completely focused in this lunge of hers, Ethririel did hold back because it was foolish to put it all against an opponent as slippery as an eel.

The moment her zanpakutō almost touched her, the arrancar vanished as expected and like a programmed command, Ethririel’s glaive turned into a blur in her right hand that swept above her in a counter clockwise direction while her eyes closed in a bid to further enhance her senses. Ethririel had a faint sensation of a breezy influence around her Shikai but the sensation seemed to collapse under Asseiteki Guǎfù’s weight and she lost sense of that sensation.

What was that? A small portion of her mind pondered while her glaive carried its previous momentum so that a single sweep generated a weak vortex strong enough to force everything within its nearly six feet range to fall into the same counter clockwise direction unless it was significantly stronger than the force the weapon generated. Ethririel's intent revolved around the great suspicion that a counter attack was imminent and so resigned to always being slower than the arrancar, she did not bother with finding out the attack’s nature nor direction. As long as it came within range of her glaive and was not stronger, it would be misdirected and compelled to follow the glaive’s ‘instructions’.

Should it go as intended with the first sweep, Ethririel would swing the glaive another circle that will increase the vortex’s force and further destabilise everything supposedly caught in it. When the glaive’s blade would point backwards and she was close to running into the wall in front of her, only then would Ethririel slash the vortex forward to smash everything in it into the wall to create a massive hole.
