Kara was only just able to follow Atsuchi's movement's as he blinked away and appeared behind her, mostly because of the impossible amounts of raw, untempered spiritual energy the 13th division Captain was blasting out.

Kara spun around, and dodged Atsuchi's powerful angled sword attack by leaning backwards out of the sword's path. As she primed for a counter, though, the ground beneath Kara heaved and bucked and burst apart as five huge, fiery dragons exploded upwards out of the frozen ground.

"Whoa!"

Using quick, short-distance flashsteps, Kara wove in and out of the upsurging dragons until she was clear of them, and then used a lenghtier flashstep to put some two dozen feet of distance between herself and the devastating hado summoned by a now almost certainly completely crazed Akutagawa.

A 90s level hado! That's just insane ...

Kara could feel the mountain top tremble and rumble loudly. The sheer humongous power of Akutagawa's kido was tearing the Frozen Zone apart. Icy rocks broke off the cliffside and rolled down, Kara easily dodging them as her eyes stayed focused on Akutagawa- or at least the position at which she could sense his untamed reiryoku, as the thundering dragons blocked the mad captain from view.

The ground tore open, the glaciated terrain broke off and split apart. The five massive, fiery dragon's raged out from it, slithering upwards until totally free from the ground's entrapment.
The now-summoned dragons floated and curled about, anticipating the orders of their summoner -Atsushi.
- Move -
Ordered Atsushi, the goose-chase began. They throttled, twirled and then, charged forward with an accelerated momentum -each after Kara, intending to crush her down.
Atsushi shrugged, he felt his sanity return, the supposed traces of madness dissolved - He reached an unruffled, tranquil state. The air of hostility that constantly left his body perished away, he heaved aloud; relieved from the bound he'd been in.
He took the time Kara'd possibly spend fending off those dragons to retrace his lost steps -deep-reaching through the myriads of interwoven personalities.
- Ashes to Ashes, Soul to Soul. Scorch, Amaterasu, Your Vessel speaks -
For a brief moment - unexplainably brief, Atsushi's breath rolled out steams, and around him, quivered. Then, a powerful surge of high-temperature reiatsu poured out, melting down the frozen region within 5metres and coalescing together a puddle of defrosted water - ensphering him shortly in thickened clouds of hot vapour; mist. Enroached, the mist spaced out through the frosty-battleground, occluding visions except those whose perception preceded mere understanding. Streaks of ashes wafted randomly, tainting the snow-white mist in dye and black. The ambience gradually climbed, the previously cold temperature gained warmth at an astonishing pace.

...ATSUSHI though back, was still lost within remorseful and regretful thoughts -he frowned down at his feet, a stream of emotions waved his heart thunderously but on the bright side, his humanity and self had almost been restored. As anticipated, ashes pulled together and swirled violently in an endless storm of ash-nado -with Atsushi found at the heart of the storm. Not even his silhouette could be mapped out from within the vortex, not even his melting eyes produced sufficient brilliance. A temporary separation necessary for Atsushi's change.

No such word as ash-nado.
However, it's Ash+Tornado. Depicting how the ash rotated around Atsushi.
Sorry for this delayed and lacking response, I guess I hit a wall, reaaaaaallllllllyyyyy tired and can't even think of anything.
Now, I'm ranting, lol. Sorry!
Atsushi is within the storm.

OOC: LOL. Hey, Writer's Block and I go way back. It's no problem. The important thing is to have fun. And this is fun. Akutagawa's not cuckoo anymore! Whoooooo!

As Kara had guessed, the flame-dragons swooped in on the attack. Kara let herself drop to the ground and then proceeded to duck, weave and dash her way around the dragons' vicious, explosive attacks. The dragons were fast, but she- thankfully- was faster, their raw power negated by their inability to hit their mark.

Even as she dodged, Kara's eyes returned always to Akutagawa, and a frisson of surprise went through Kara was she felt a change in her opponent's spirit pressure. Almost instantly, the deep cold of the No Frost Zone vanished, replaced by a rising warmth. Kara saw the ice around Akutagawa first melt, and then hiss into clouds of mist that surrounded the 13th Division Captain like white veils.

Heat...? Is this the true power of his zanpakutou ...?

I'm not over it totally but I'm better anyway. Thanks, man, that helped alot
Atsushi, having found himself and coming to make peace with his mistakes, cleared the region that instant. The thick mist-cloud and the fluttering ashes cleared up to reveal Atsushi's void cranial sockets -devoid of any organ and bringing to his opponent's notice nothing but eternal darkness and ashes that wafted outwards and away from them. His eyes, as a cost for the sudden perceptiveness he'd received, got scorched away.

..... SUDDENLY, Atsushi got shrouded in an armor of clustered ashes, masking his face with a well-sculpted mempo and over his head -kabutoMempo = Samurai's facial armor. Kabuto = Samurai's Helmet. The ashes ensembled into a typical samurai vest with two long blades - A tachi and Katana strapped to the left and right side of his waist whilst he held his zanpakuto on his right arm.

The summoned dragons dissipated away, Atsushi deemed them needless at this point. Bending slightly forward, digging both toes into the ground - the ground charged up and sparkled, whilst he- Atsushi accumulated energy for a raw burst of momentum. Like a cheetah let loose, Atsushi burst forward, leaving behind a thousand explosions in a show of fireworks. Reaching through to Kara, he'd drive a knee supercharged with explosive ashes right down Kara's abdomen - If it connects, the bone-cracking kick and the explosion would be an ugly sight to witness. Even if she'd pace away, the wave of ashes that'd tear forward in millions of sharp shards alongside his lifted knee could make escaping Atsushi's gambit a tad difficult. At this point, he didn't hold back anymore, the unused ashes compacted in each section of his armor - giving him diversity over their control.

Still evading the fiery attacks of Atsushi's summoned dragons, Kara's eyes whipped towards her opponent just in time to see his transformation. Kara's eyes narrowed in thought, her heartrate and mind uncannily calm even amidst the dangerous conditions of the ongoing battle.

This feeling ...

One of the dragons swooped low and almost out of Kara's visual range before surging up at her. Kara did a tight spin and back-dash, dodging the roaring stream of fire.

I sense an intense accumulation of spirit energy ... He is ...

Suddenly the dragon's sputtered out in a shower of embers. Kara's eyelids jumped apart.

... about to attack!

And Atsushi did, rushing forwards in a explosive surge that left a wake of cascading explosions. Kara gathered herself quickly, throwing her weight back even as she summoned a powerful gust of wind into Atsushi's path in a bid to kill his forward momentum, allowing her a few more seconds of reaction time.

Kara read Atsushi's attack, and was able to block his bone-breaking knee strike with a plunging, wind-powered palm attack of her own. But she hadn't counted on the barrage of burning ash-spikes. Several ripped through Kara's uniform- one leaving a sizeable gash on her left shoulder- before Kara repelled the spiky shower with a spiralling wall of air. With her palm still pressing down on Atsuhi's knee, Kara's raised her eyes to meet his empty sockets.

This man's ... strong ...

While he drove in for the attack, Kara had been able to detect Atsushi's transitioning. Indeed, she did block the kick and fend off most of the ash-shards from dealing any significant damage but letting even a few to pass by her was quite a terrible mistake - several amount of ashes would stretch forward from his lifted knee and attempt to grasp tightly her palms, diminishing the tiniest distance and then, it'd explode[1] whilst the several ash-shards, that nicked past her shoulders, would curve back into her back from all angles unoccupied.

The unsteadiness about the ash-shards produced an intense red glow, hinting on the amount of bustling energy that they possessed - upon possible consequent contact, several miniature explosions might go off.[2]

1. The destructive power of the explosion would be Kido 55's
2. The accumulated explosive power of those shards will equal Kido 30's

The ashes at Atsushi's raised knee- the same knee she'd just blocked- rose suddenly to take her outstretched hand in a strong grip. Kara's eyes widened.

The armor can change form ...?

Throwing herself back hard to dislodge her hand, Kara reacted a second too late as the gripping ash exploded with a bright red flash that engulfed Kara before fading into plumes of dark smoke.

Kara leaped backwards out of the smoke cloud, trailing some of it as she went. Her left arm had borne the brunt of the explosion and was black with sooth, and her attire was charred slightly on her left side. Thankfully, the malleable armor that stretched up her arms had protected her from any critical damage, as had her physical conditioning.

Kara's eyes remained on her opponent, her mind working double-time even as she felt some of the ash shards from before ripping down towards her. [1]

I see ...

Kara dropped into a low crouch even as she continued her backwards dash, and several ash-shards shot past over her head. An angled backwards aerial cartwheel allowed Kara to dodge the remaining shards. She landed cleanly, coming to a halt in a ready posture.

Heat manipulation. The ash in the air ... the explosions ... his flaming sword and the intense heat surrounding him. Atsushi is able to manipulate heat, and the heated ash coming off him, which explains the full-body ash armor. Also ...

Kara's eyes narrowed on Atsushi's eyeless sockets.

His eyes are gone. So he isn't relying on conventional sight. Which means his spirit energy perception is either dramatically heightened ... or one of his other senses has evolved as a result of his zanpakutou release ...

Around Kara, the wind seemed suddenly agitated and cloudy as Kara's telekinetic grip on it strengthened. She squared her shoulders.

Let's find out ...

Watching her all evasive and quick on noticing the slight changes around her, Akutagawa had, long since, known how perceptive She's and super-obvious attacks were merely nothing before her.
She- Kara proved quite a difficult one, her nimbleness, foresight and her clear versatility over her ability, she had massive potential to grow further and that joyed Atsushi greatly.
The icy structures dissolved and the coalesced snowflakes that layered atop their foothold gradually diminished into vapours, over a thousand miles and beyond, the heat circulated; anyone there could feel how intense Atsushi's heat had grown and his plasmic sword hissed with coursing electricity.

Racing towards her were ocean of sharp edged ashes that shot forward bulkier shards at odd intervals but at an astonishing speed that'd toy with her sense of timing. Atsushi dropped down to a knee and adhered his free palm to the ground - he'd proceed to charge up the region of space around her and the ground beneath she stood.
After few seconds, around her ensued into spontaneous explosions.

The explosions didn't even deter the ashes' pace and motion, and in that instance, they'd all spread widely and home in on her, giving no space to act nor time to rest.

Gomen! Still struggling with this writer's block.
• Explosive power rivals kidō #50.
• The ashes were remnant, unused ones that didn't form the samurai vest he wore.
• Explosion range - 8metres.

The air around her had been growing increasingly hotter from the moment Atsushi had released his soulslayer, and now Kara could feel her skin begin to smart slightly, and the snow beneath her feet grew from mushy, while closer to Atsushi it had gone full liquid.

Hmmm ... It appears his heat radiation isn't self-controlled. And it has a range ... possibly. Could his other ranged abilities fall under the same distance limitations as his heat aura?

Kara saw the spiked wave of ash coming at her and immediately leaped high into the air, using the wind around her to gain more height, nullifying the ash wave's destructive ability. Not a moment after she'd taken to the air, the ground where she'd just been standing erupted with explosive energy, and Kara realized it was similar to when the ash tentacle had exploded around her arm earlier. Kara blinked, surprised. She must have sensed the energy building, but clearly her mind had not registered it. Were it not for the more obvious threat of the surging ash wave, Kara might have taken another hit.

So it isn't just his armor. He can create ranged explosions using solid material in the environment...

It seemed uncannily similar to one of Kara's own abilities. Kara gathered a denser mass of air around her and controlled her breathing. With another hard push, she rose higher still, now about fifty feet high off the ground, and some twenty meters away from Atsushi.

Atsushi felt no sudden surprise when she moved away from the ground and attained higher altitude, it seemed as if she'd presage or was it luck? Atsushi had grown increasingly tired and frustrated about how well she'd evade his offenses despite the effort poured into them. . . It appears he needed even more training and he's yet to understand how his ability works, the mechanics behind it. . . Amaterasu was a lax one, she wouldn't even share anything with Atsushi.

He raised himself up from his prior posture and took his gaze to Kara, watching her hang midair.
He'd only lift his free left hand towards her and apply a squeeze to it. Within moments, she'd not only be blinded by the sparks that surged forth explosions but the explosions itself that covered round her.

Leaping immediately after- with an extra-aid from an uncharged explosion underneath his feet, he'd attained Kara's altitude in that moment and follow through with a heavy punch with his left fist. During the moment he took to the air, his armor became bulkier around both arms, obtaining a dazzling red hue to it. If he'd connect, she'd come crashing down into a pile of snow.

• Man. Sorry for the delay, still suffering from it!
• Explosion's potency rivals Kidō 34.

Going into a hover fifty meters high, Kara dropped her gaze to Atsushi. Her eyes narrowed.

Now, let's see-

A sudden tingle of intuition cut Kara's thoughts short. A moment later- and a moment too late- Kara realized why. The air around her flashed and ignited, the explosive force jarring the dense air Kara had wrapped around herself. The air barrier barely held up, but even as Kara breathed a sigh of relief, Atsushi- the ashen armor around his arms dangerously enlarged- appeared in front of her, throwing a crushing left-handed punch that broke Kara's shield apart and sent her hurtling down into the melted snow beneath. Kara landed hard, sending up a dense spray of water and snow that seconds later crashed back down.

A moment later Kara would burst out of the snow, dashing backwards away from Atsushi at ground level, her eyes on her opponent. The air barrier had taken the brunt of Atsushi's attack, leaving Kara mostly unscathed. But she was slightly shaken, her breathing a little heavier.

His attacks have got range, and he can create spontaenous explosions ... But, there's something strange...

Kara's eyes dashed around, narrowing with every swivel.

I feel a vibration in the air ... And his spirit energy ... How didn't I notice this before? It's almost as if his energy is surrounding me ... Not like waves of spirit pressure ... Like it's woven into the air particles ... particles ...

Kara's eyes rose again to Atsushi, and then they widened as a realization came.

Ashes! That's why the explosion felt weird. He wasn't igniting the air itself- my telekinetic awareness would have felt that. He's igniting particles of ash scattered around...!

As Kara pondered how to use her new understanding to her advantage, she sent two ice-spikes ripping through the air towards Atsushi, while summoning a ring of water around herself. [1]

[1] The ice spikes pack a physical power one level below Kara's, and have a speed two levels below Kara's.

Dude, no worries. I've been having the same problem. :o.

Though not exactly a success, the force from his punch, however, launched her into a pile of snowflakes and gathered water like a bomb with a loud thud that rose into the air, sloshes and beads of water and sprays of snow. The enlarged ashes around his fists wore off and his armor came off, his scorched eyes returned and slowly, freely, he fell after suddenly losing consciousness, head first into the snowy grounds and his zanpakuto free of his grasp while the rushing air rendered his tattered attire restless, flapping loosely across the air.
Atsushi wasn't one to be tired from such minimal exchanges, he sure didn't exert his capabilities to the max, what happened? Atsushi felt suddenly light-headed, this certainly isn't an after-effect of his zanpakuto or is it? Black pores appeared at odd places, a bubbling shoot of miasma grew larger and larger, something approached fast, so fast it caught Atsushi unawares, he'd faltered to its effects and this didn't come with a nice ring to it.

The miasmatic shoots didn't appear at a place, not two or three either, they numbered in tens, scattered across the field whilst growing taller and larger, overflowing with viscous miasma that poured down onto the snowy grounds and afterwards, gnawing down the clustered snowflakes and draining the puddles of water.
Kara was farther away from a miasmatic spire compared to Atsushi, exactly 40metres from the nearest spire and Atsushi laid lifeless, 20metres away from another.

Then came the thunderous pounds like titans marching into a battlefield, the sounding drums and the in-rhythm hums and chants oozed out from all corners, they all got louder and louder as if drawing closer yet nothing met the eyes, no nothing at all despite the view clearing up a bit more than prior.

What would be their response? Would Atsushi wake up? Can Kara solve this mystery and what led them?

Even as Kara sent the ice-spikes at Atsushi, her advanced reiatsu perception sent a heated frisson through her. Kara froze, eyes roving.

Something's ... coming...?

Kara's suspicion was confirmed a second later as dark masses of vapor erupted all around her and across the battlefield, emanating a spirit pressure that was at once familiar and foreboding.

This is ...

Just then Kara felt a drastic drop in Atsushi's reiatsu, and looked up to see the Goteijuusentai Captain plummeting, his ash armor crumbling away. From the pulse of his spirit pressure, Kara knew he was either unconscious, or about to black out.

In a flash Kara swept forward, veering around the black, vaporous eruptions. She would arrive beneath Atsushi just in time to catch the near-unconscious Captain in both arms.

Kara carefully lowered Atsushi to the ground and redirected her attention to the strange vapors bursting out of the ground. Something about them scratched at her subconscious. It was only moments before Kara realized what they were, and in the instant of her realization, a voice boomed out over the thunderous din of drums.

"BEHOLD, YOU SQUIRMING WORMS! I AM YOUR DESTRUCTION COME CALLING! I AM THE HERALD OF YOUR ...er ... THE HERALD OF YOUR GETTING MESSED UP AND STUFF ...!"

Sighing, Kara slapped a palm to her forehead.

Some thirty feet in front of Kara, several of the black vapors merged, forming a huge, boiling mass, and out of that mass came a dark figure, arms spread out in self-adulation as it boomed out its entrance.

"BEHOLD, YOU SQUIGGLY, SQUISHY VERMIN! TREMBLE BEFORE ME! FEAR ME! FEAR ME- Whoa!"

The dark figure appeared to slip on something, and then it fell face-first into the snow. The dark clouds flew apart and vanished.

Kara looked down.

The new arrival was male, had long white hair, wore baggy white pants, and had two large swords strapped to his back. His face was buried in the snow, and his bum stuck straight up.

Unsure whether to glower or giggle, Kara just stared.

The new arrival pulled his head out of the ground, shook off the snow, and blinked up at Kara. A goofy smile bloomed on his face.

"Howdja like mah grand entrance, eh, Yanna?"

Kara blinked.

"You slipped." She pointed out.

The white-haired male shrugged.

"Happens."

Kara knew the man. His name was Arc Zauberer. And he was a member of the covert organization known as Scion. The same organization she'd been on the run from. Kara's eyes narrowed.

They'd found her.

Atsushi dropped down subconsciously, fighting through the restless winds while his blade disarmed and distanced itself from him. He'd feel the faint chill coursing all over his body, he wasn't conscious enough to act and it wasn't before long he became fully unconscious.

Steadily, his consciousness returned, he could hear voices and the voices he heard felt distant. To him, they were echoing and reverberating sounds from afar, infact, everything felt distant, faraway, miles away, beyond his reach.
He laid lifeless, head up with his teary and blurry eyes half-open and gapping blankly into world beyond. His memories were all foggy, he couldn't form a proper image of what happened recently, just scattered fragments of memories that couldn't be properly pieced together and Atsushi couldn't even bother himself in trying to recollect.

At first, Atsushi thought he had been passed into another world, a different sphere of existence where he laid on a bed of flowers. Ridges drove high, valleys were deep, mountains one end to another with rivers running in between each space yet the expanse was blindingly white, praceful and calm, there were no skies but clouds hovered. No other presence until a voice called. It was thin and barely audible, far and unreachable. It almost was impossible to listen until the voice became closer and closer and closer.
"Kentas!Kentas!!Kentas!!!Kentas!!!!Kentas!!!!! Wake up!!!"
"When last was I called that name? There was only one person. . . Just---- one"
The terrain began to wash off like a watered painting on canvas, mountains melted down the waters bubbled and boiled away, the white space above began to crack, tear apart as if it was paper. Atsushi's eyes dilated, his mouth gapped open, figuring out his thoughts and slowly regaining his senses and memories.
"What in the hell happened?"
He threw a rhetorical question at himself. He had woken up!
The fuzziness of the snowy clouds obscured his vision, everything felt a little different but still familiar. The eerie aura that made him to be at an unease despite lying helpless on the ground was near and closeby. During those moments he retained his senses, his sensing capabilities were dysfunctional as he'd just regained control over himself again. Soon, he felt Kara's reiatsu before another reiatsu signature crashed into his chikaku radar. "Another person? An enemy?" Several reiatsu signatures entered his radar, he could sense them. THEY ARE HERE!
Paralyzed from before, he fidgeted, trying to force his body into acting again.
"Someone's here. People are here. Undoubtedly enemies. I didn't account for this, I need to move, i need to get up. Act!!!!"
He murmured barely audibly, he couldn't force his body to move neither could he speak properly, something must be up. However, he'd tilt his head about. He attempted to turn his gaze to the newcomer, but his head and body weren't facing towards that direction.
"Ka-ka-----kara. Ka---KARA!!!!!"
He yelled for her, with every strength that was unrestrained, he wished she'd hear him. This isn't your everyday practice anymore, something much worse had been brewing beneath the shadows and it has surfaced!

[SPAR EVENT] No Frost Zone (Kara Masters VS Akutagawa Atsushi )

#35

Post by Fluxarc » Fri Oct 04, 2019 2:21 am

Even as she regarded the familiar newcomer, Kara was aware of Atsushi coming to. And then she felt the sharp tremor in his spirit energy that indicated anxiety. Kara knew instinctively that Atsushi's uneasiness had to do with Arc Zauberer, the agent of Scion who had just made his fumbling entrance. Kara shared that uneasiness, albeit not as strongly. Dangerous though Arc was, he would never harm Kara or her allies. It was not the Scion way. More likely than not the tall, white-haired Arrancar was here to bring her back into the fold.

"Easy, Captain." Kara said under her breath, addressing Atsushi. "He is no threat to us. Just let me handle this. Rest ..."

Rising to her feet, Kara stepped around Atsushi and stood before Arc, chin up, shoulders square.

"I know why you're here, Zauberer." Kara said, eyes hard with resolve, though her words remained courteous. "But I'm not returning to the monastery. You need to let me go."

Arc Zauberer- his eyes typically veiled by his unruly silver-white hair- gave a crooked, rueful smile.

"Aw, shucks," he moaned, "why'd ja havta pull the uppity card, Yara? And when your brother's already waiting for you and all ..."

At the mention of her brother, realization sliced through Kara's mind like a white-hot scalpel. She went completely still, every bit of her extraordinary sensing abilities focused on Arc Zauberer. In a heartbeat, she knew for sure. Kara's eyes narrowed.

"You're not Arc Zauberer." She said.

A gust of cold wind stirred Arc's white fringe, and for a second his eyes were revealed, opened to slits. They were an inky black, and from their depths a greenish light woke, just as a fiendish, menacing grin unfurled on Arc's face.

"Nah," Arc responded, all pretense abandoned as a cold menace creeped into his voice. "Not the Arc ya know anyhows. Allow me ta introduce myself ..."

With a predatory slowness, Arc pulled the sword over his left shoulder free of its sheathe and directed its tip at Kara.

"Tha name's Arc Three."

Kara took a long look at Captain Atsushi. He was in no shape to do further battle.

And this was her fight. Involving anyone else would be wrong. Turning back to Arc Three, Kara relaxed her shoulders and tipped her chin up slightly, signalling her obedience.

"Fine. Let's go." She said.

Arc Three nodded, turned around, and traced a large circle through the air. A shimmering silver ring formed in the wake of his gesture, and soon it became a seething black and silver portal, ten feet tall and about as much wide. Stepping to one side of the portal, Arc Three gave a courteous bow, channeling with a comical affect the prim fluorish of an English porter.

"After you, My Lady." He trilled.

Sighing, Kara started forward, then stopped and gave Captain Atsushi one final look. "Be well, Captain." She said, and then turned and went through the portal, Arc Three following shortly after. The moment Arc vanished into the restless veil, the portal collapsed, leaving nothing but a vague shimmer in the air, which howled with icy unrest.
