[Diego's Solo Mission] Ghost Hunting

Beyond the world of the living lies Hueco Mundo; the dimension in which the Hollow and Arrancar reside. The terrain is blank, and dull - white sands stretch as far as the eye can see and the sky above remains perpetually dark. From the sand juts Las Noches, the home of the Arrancar. The structure is massive in size and white all around with one single door. You may enter, if you dare.

With the morning sun, already settled high in the sky and the cool summer breeze sweeping through the great town of Karakura, a troubled soul laid in waiting in a state of disgust and discomfort, with his memories and thoughts tangled around each other.

Diego as he was well known by a few Arrancara, woke to find himself surrounded by crows, dirt and insects some of which had made their way into his black silky fur, Itching and irking him in manners only termed ungodly. The Arrancara had somehow managed to sleep over in a sanitarian box and had recently risen up to see himself in such state. “What am I doing here?” he subconsciously pondered, with his senses all over the place, in an attempt to identify his location.

His mission was quite simple, enter the world of the living and find an informant gone missing, but still here he was trying to fend off a few desperate crows and the crawling insects from his natural furry suit and mask. How these creatures even seem to see and interact with him, would slightly bother him as he shake’s off the last specie from his fur. However, this was the least of his problems, seeing as the day had brought with it a lot more mysteries, which needed immediate attention.

The 5 ft tall Arrancara immediately leaped down from his box of dirt, in a calm manner without even spiking the attention of nearby rodent feasting on their morning prey. He slowly walked up the edge of the ally, where he found himself this faithful morning, only to have a sneak peek at what was going on out in the streets. To the Arrancara, it was clear something had made him sleep off in a dumpster and whatever it was he hoped to still avoid.

With a slight feel of his surroundings, Diego would find a horde of mortals roaming the streets with their family and loved ones, everyone walking as if they had to be somewhere important with energy and happiness oozing out from them. Disgust by this site, the black furred Arrancara would only observe the low life's in the same manner he would observe a flock of livestock putting on Nike’y canvas, “Humans!” he would murmur almost as if haunted by their presence.

Seeing no value in observing any further, the 5ft tall Arrancara would deviate his senses from them and put them to a good use, observing only the surrounding buildings in search of clues that could explain his presence here. Making sure to put all details into consideration, the Arrancara would scan far and wide, felling all fragment of nature as they co-exist with each other. [Maybe they had something more to offer] he secretly hoped. With each passing second and even though without sight, the Arrancara could already tell a lot about the buildings around. A few would instantly seem familiar as his memory slowly reboots the events of his past.

A few days back
Location Las Nochas the library

I hear you’ve been assigned a mission to the real world a feminine elegant voice spoke in amazement, as she opens up a sealed envelope

Yeah, I have been given a simple one… looks like all I have to do is enter the real world and find an Arrancara
Yeah, but that’s not all it says here.

“Mission details You are required to go into the human world and make contact with an Arrancara wolf like in nature who goes by the name Guspo. Call him back to Las-Nochas were his presence is required. Note your are not in any circumstances allowed to engage the enemy. If faced with one “

"Yeah like I said enter the real world and find an Arrancara, Easy. I will be back for our study section in two-days. Thanks for reading out the details for me".

"Your welcome", the worker hollow replied as she continued with her daily activity.

Diego retrieved his face from the streets and immediately made his way to the roof of a close by building, were he could stay and observe the a very familiar building, 5 blocks away. With every passing minute, The Arrancara drew closer to the building in extreme stealth, until he was squatted on a building directly opposite to his destination (The factory with the symbol of a crow). Here he sat observing all form of life form walk in and out of the building.

With each passing moment, as seconds turned minutes and minutes hours, Diego sat and observed people of different face and culture walking TO and FRO the busy streets of Karakura town, carrying along their daily businesses as it should be. He also had a chance to pick up on other spiritual being, especially that of new souls wondering unprotected along the streets. However, no matter the situation, Diego made sure to keep his attention on the factory entrance before him, avoiding any and all distraction that would hinder his mission.

For some reasons, he had found the factory very familiar, so familiar that he could’ve sworn seeing the Arrancara Guspo within its confines’ if put under some sort of customary oat system. However, for each passing hour Diego resolve grew weaker and weaker, under gaze of the dreadful sun.

Seeing no sign of his prey for hours, Diego calmly nurtured the thoughts of leaving in search of other clues, his form was already looking crappy and boredom was about taking his concentration from him, however before the 5-ft. tall Arrancara could wonder in deeper into his thoughts the presence of a spiritual being hit him, one which was far stronger than anything he had felt that day. The Arrancara quickly suppressed his presence and drew closer to the edge of the roof to observe what was going on.

In a glance, Diego’s senses could pick up two, humans who had just arrived with a bag and another who had stepped out from the building to welcome them, their conversation went unnoticed by the Arrancara as they stepped into the factory. The identity of the two hefty men whom could easily pass as mercenaries, seemed a bit familiar, causing Diego to question himself further on what really happened a day before.

The blind Arrancara took it upon himself to remember the events of his past as a way to keep busy. He needed to know a lot about his situation, why he had passed out in a place not so far from his current location and why he was familiarizing himself with strange things.

By closing his eyes and meditating on it, memories of his past came flooding in like a tap allowed to run unhinged. Events ran its course in a fast pace revealing how he had entered the world of the living all dressed in black. He would remember looking for the building for a day only to find it among the buzziest streets of Karakura town. What followed next was his boring hours of research as he later decides to approach the building at the cover of the night. However unknown to him, the building was heavily guarded by five full bringers, members of the human race who had the gift to interact with the dead. He would vividly remember their appearances, the pressure he felt while approaching them and how they reacted on seeing him.

Diego would find himself sweating off his memories, as the pursuit on his life ensues within his mind. The five had casually let loose balls of energy towards him, some of which can be passed off as full charged Ceros while other acted as homing Ceros imploding only when in contact with the target. Not minding this Diego had continued his run and had managed to evade most of them. However, before he could get very far a blast erupted a meter away from him causing the blast wave to smash him to a wall after which he fell sporadically from a height of 20 meters.

Diego frantically opened up his eye lid, with a heavy breath and sweats dripping down his cheek. This was way above his pay grade he considered as his senses scanned his immediate vicinity for any form of threat.

For a while the black furry Arrancara sat in silence as he considered his next step or action. He wasn’t ready to go back to Hueco without at least gathering the required information. However, staying back meant certain Death, and this he knew quite well. To the best of his knowledge, the full bringers were at best 10th seat, a level which far surpasses his power bracket. The fact that he was still alive was probably thanks to their laxity and as such he wouldn’t want to test fate a second time.

With a slight sigh and a sudden slouch in his shoulders, the blind bandit calmly stood to his feet and dusted off his rare ends, hoping to get every form of dirt out from his back. His tailed waged from one side to another in a sluggish manner. Diego gazed upon his huge claw hands before dusting it against each other. He quickly let out a slight sigh as he senses settled upon the building again.

It was already getting dark and he had a promise to keep. This was not the time to ponder he whispered to himself with all his sense directed towards the entrance of the building. If he had learnt one thing as a hollow it was probably knowing how to be mindless, facts never really mattered, all that mattered was the mission. He mentally consoled himself.

Once unnerved, Diego quickly lowered his hip, pressing down his weight to his left foot in an attempt to gain momentum before propelling himself upwards into the sky. In one full burst the 5-ft. tall Arrancara jumped off the roof top where he had squatted for hours. His senses quickly ran a wide scan of his surrounding with the gentle breeze blowing against his face and furs. It was a brave step for the Arrancara one he hoped not to regret.

However just as soon as he had leaped Diego felt the pulsating Reiatsu of a Human standing directly ahead of his intended landing destination with his arms crossed. His posture sowed he was under some sort of surveillance, leading Diego to believe he was being expected. Suspended in midair, with the moon behind his back, Diego wondered how he had missed to pick up any Reiatsu signature before his leap.

In matter of seconds, Diego made contact with the solid tarred street, landing 2-fts. in front of the huge Caucasian guy who had on him black shades and a Cuba over his mouth. The spiritual pressure oozing out from the 7-ft. male was enough to cripple Diego on spot however the furry Arrancara had to make use of his wits and his years of experience. Diego quickly faded into the cobalt floor in the form of a shadow, and dashed forward, phasing past the Caucasian male at an alarming speed.

The Caucasian male, who was clearly shocked at what he had seen, pulled up his glasses with his mouths wide open as he gazed in aww. His prized Cuba calmly rolled off his lips, hitting the floor at the same time it took Diego to get to a hidden section by the edge of the building. He immediately materialized, leaving his intangible state as soon as his movement came to a halt. “Curse this” the Arrancara calmly whispered in annoyance on leaving such state. He knew quite well the limits of his Sombra paso (A fast pace movement used only by Adjuchas class hollows for haunting down souls) but had hopped its effect were longer lasting and not limited to movement.

He would immediately divert his senses to the entrance of the factory, which he had purposely avoided during his speed dash. He would remember picking up a Reiatsu signature heading towards the entrance and would calmly await the creature to exit its premises, with his attention still on the first human who was now showing signs of confusion. “Maybe he didn’t see me coming after-all” Diego would conclude as he observes from his hidden spot.

"What’s wrong Kong?" a slender looking figure, stepping out of the building would immediately inquired on seeing the look on his partner’s face.

“Why so dazed, see something?”

The human in question reserved his comment and only looked up and down, diverting his gaze from the floor before him to the rooftops ahead of him. After a few more glances the human would eventually pay attention to his partners’ question.

“Yo man I think I saw something like a beast drop from the sky, can you check that out?” he quickly replied. Looking back over his shoulder to confront the slim Japanese partner who was now standing directly behind him.

“Seriously Kong I just got out and am here to take over your shift, cut me some slack…” the Japanese male muttered in a lazy manner as he looked back into Kong’s eye, with hopes of dissuading the muscular man.

However, seeing no atom of disparity in his eye the Japanese male drew closer towards him and immediately sighed on seeing the mans prized Cuba smashed on the floor. He could already tell the case was dire and knew what was next. Without further hesitations, he quickly muttered

“Come on, I can’t believe you’re gona have me do this,,,,, you owe me one, remember that” With that said the Japanese quickly emitted a wave of red Reiatsu, which exposed all and any hidden trace of Reiatsu as it combed its way outwards.

Diego immediately felt threatened on seeing the wave draw close to him at an alarming speed and in an instant, he sank into the earth and made his way into the building, applying his Sombra Paso once again. Doors and paintings combed the entire hallway but this was of no concern to the Arrancara who only continued on a straight part till he was directly behind a shot door 20 meters away from the two humans. He immediately materialized and quickly rested his back at the door in a slight squatting position, with his two hands rested on his knee and his face planted downwards.

With every deep breath, Diego calmed himself down making room for a slight smile to draw across his face. He had seen men shocked before but the image of the Caucasian human he left behind had topped his chat for the day. “whats next?”he calmly pondered as he lifted his head to find himself trapped in a room the size of a football field.

High standing shelves, lined up the interior of the room with books and files well stacked up in each. the arrangement of each layer made it look like a labyrinth with one main path way extending from the point where Diego stood till it reached the far end of the room. Diego marveled at the feel of it. He couldn’t see much but he knew enough to tell the room was dark. “So, this is the archive section” he calmly muttered as he moved from one shelve to the other.

Barely three shelves down Diego heard clanking footsteps of a man, moving at a normal pace from a section of the room and towards the main pathway leading to the door. His motion showed no sign of hostility and judging by his lack of spiritual pressure Diego quickly assumed he was a normal human. However, Diego doubled back to the door he had come from as silent as he could and immediately attempted to pull it open however he came to realize the door was an electronic door which required some standard digits to open up.

Diego wouldn't waver in his attempt to leave the room and immediately attempted sinking into the earth, just like before. However, to his surprise Diego found himself unable to do that, he realized, he was unable to even emit his own Reiatsu and wondered what he had gotten himself into.

As the man drew closer to the door, Diego quickly moved out of sight, hiding himself behind a nearby shelve by simply resting his back behind it. This was the best hiding position for the Arrancara but seeing as he was already caught off guard, he would only hope the human wouldn’t direct his touch light towards his direction as he opens the door.

5_4_4_5_2 were the digits the unsuspecting man quickly tallied in as he reached the door. Which in turn set off a sudden alarm system, beeping and glowing continuously within the room as the door gradually slid open. Diego quickly moved further away from the door to avoid the peering ray of light from reaching him, thus exposing him to the human. However, he didn’t stray in too far in an attempt to observe the working mechanism of the door. From his observation, the Arrancara quickly deduced it required approximately 50 seconds for the door to totally open up. That is one sluggish door Diego mentally acknowledged as he watched on.

"Hey, apart from the Hollow sedatives, should I get you an ice pack for your fist". The leaving human quickly shouted at the top of his voice as the doors began closing before him. A second voice from inside the room quickly replied almost immediately.

“Yeah, I would be needing some of those.”

Diego couldn’t tell half of what they meant by that, however one thing became clear to him, and that was he wasn’t dealing with just humans.

The Arrancara quickly placed a lock-on at the direction, at which the second sound wave emitted from. And as soon as the first human leaves the vicinity with the door closed behind him. Diego would silently make his way towards the locked-on location for a better understanding of what was going on.

Five flights of shelves into the room, Diego would find himself faced with 2 more humans beating up a tied hollow with their bare knuckles. They would seem to take turns and would purposely miss critical spots when landing their punches. The 5th tall Arrancara would quickly take cover behind an office table nearby as he observes in total amazement.

"Where is the Arrancara data sheet you promised us?", one of the male would ask as he lands a punch on the hollows wolf like jaw threatening to bash in his teeth. The Arrancara would maintain his silence, not that he could speak immediately even if he wanted, as the pain alone could numb his tongues. “Answer him, you filthy beast!”, a second man would add as he jabs his fist into the Arrancara torso causing him to spit out blood. However, the Arrancara would still remain silent.

Diego would immediately deviate his view in other to come up with a plan to distract the two individuals. Luckily for him the Japanese human who he had seen outside would immediately call the attention of the two humans through an intercom, urging them to step outside for some briefing. “we have a problem, he would mutter before ending the transmission. The other two individuals would quickly follow directions and leave the room as asked, leaving the bleeding hollow behind to hang for a while.

Diego would quickly rush over to the Arrancara and tap him on the face ever so slightly, to keep him conscious and focused on him. "Hey wake up,,, Hey,,, Hey wake up!"

The Arrancara would raise his face to take a good look at Diego with his swollen eyes all bulging out. “who are you?” the Arrancara would inquire as he gazes upon the owl faced, furry 5-ft. homo erects before him.

"I am Diego,,, Diego miles sent here for you by the Espada. Your mission here is over you’ve been asked to come back to base". The Arrancara would heave a sigh of relief as he observes Diego tear of his bond with his sharp claws… “you seem to be a pro in rescue missions how did you know I was in danger.

Surprised by his question Diego would lift him off the sick and unto his shoulders without any hesitation. "I didn’t know anything I was only asked to find you and call you back". The Arrancara will slightly scream in pain as Diego places him on his shoulders without much consideration to his already sustained injury “ohh I see, so what’s next?” he would blurt out in pain as he tries to keep conscious. “I was hoping you tell me” Diego would quickly utter in an attempt to keep the conversation alive.

However, he would get no further response from the Arrancara and would discover he already passed out. The doors alarm system would immediately set of, alerting the Diego of the presence of new company.

The furry Arrancara would derv deeper into the archive section till he was faced with a wall signifying the end of the room. The footstep of the humans who had just found their hostage missing would grow louder and louder as they race towards his location. "What next?" he would silently wonder as panic begins to take hold of him. In a matter of seconds, he would the two humans would approach his section of the shelve, however before they could approach Diego’s located pathway. The furry Arrancara would climb up the shelves, and rest Guspo at the highest section of the shelves, which had no boxes placed on it, Diego would watch and observe the two-individual’s hover around for a bit with their beaming touches scouting each area thoroughly before vacating to another section.

Diego would quickly bounce down from the top of the shelve and climb up to a window situated at the top of the wall. Looking out of the window he would find a perfect landing spot for the two, however a few metal bars would limit his passage through. Not wanting to attract unnecessary attention to his location. He would calmly crawl his way back to the door of the room where he would play with the number board of the electronic doors, in an attempt to enlighten himself on the sounds associated with each button. Once that was achieved, the Arrancara would immediately tally in the Numbers 5_4_4_5_2 as he had heard one of their partners do before. Just as expected the doors would immediately respond and open up without further delay.

The 5ft tall Arrancara would quickly let out a senile smile as the alarm system kicks in, beeping and echoing throughout the room. "This should do it" he would silently murmur as he makes his way to the top of a nearby shelve, for safety.

In manner of seconds the two humans who had been thoroughly searching the room would race out of their individual location before running out through the door. Diego would let out another smile on seeing this as the door closes behind them.

“Now I have the place to myself, but not for long."

The Arrancara would quickly double back to Guspo’s location. And lift him unto his back. Like a cat, he would jump over to the window, only to pull on the metal bars till they break apart, giving him access to exit through the window.

Diego and his newfound pall would exit through the window and immediately find themselves smashing into a dumpster. “Not again” 5 ft Arrancara would calmly exclaim as he immediately pulls himself out from the pile of trash. The other Arrancara would still appear unconscious causing Diego to let out another sigh before lifting him to his back.

With a little application of his now returned Reiatsu, Diego would race of down the streets in an attempt to head back to his point of arrival where he would await the Garganta gates. Which would open at a given time period to take him back home.
