Bent over grasping the floor to prep his stone shield, Elijah missed the initial movement of the boy. Unbeknownst to Seraph, the giant wasn't nearly as vulnerable he appeared. Apart from an absolute monster of a man, Elijah was an extremely capable swordsman. Even more so in a defensive stance, as his size allowed.

Seraph's blade slashed into Elijah's shoulder, loosening his grip on the cleaver slightly. Unfortunately for Seraph, he had made a grave error. Getting that close to Elijah was a death sentence for even a seasoned fighter.

While Seraph was extending his arm to make the attack, Elijah would take the opportunity to try anf clamp the boy in a bear hug. So tight would be the giant''s grip that ribs would be crushed and his spine broken if he did not yield.
The zanjutsu manouver performed by the blonde shinigami achieved its purpose; slashing significantly into Elijah's lower shoulder area. This caused the latter's firm grip on the massive cleaver to become somewhat effete, but clearly not up to the extent anticipated by the blonde shinigami.

The longer this banter between himself and the giant continued, the more lucid his understanding of the infamous saying "Behind every pebble stands a boulder and every boulder a mountain". If anything incited Seraph's interest in the behemoth, it wasn't his unsual height, gory appearance or raw offense, but rather it was that "damage gorging" durability of his. That truly was the bane of Seraph's attempts at dealing a decent blow to the behemoth's being.

Little as it may have been, the deadpan countenance of the blonde shinigami began to register a change and there it was_a hint of dissatisfaction creeping over his face. However, just before the idea to lengthen the distance between himself and the giant could be actualized, it would dawn on the blonde shinigami the thought had spawned a moment too late. For Elijah had, capitalizing on their current proximity with each other, already motioned to enslave the noble to his embrace and owing to letting his guard down based on the ill-concieved notion that Elijah was incapable of springing up into action suddenly, Seraph was rendered utterly helpless against Elijah's vicing.

The sensation Seraph felt afterwards could be described as getting wedged between the jaws of a starved crocodile. if it was someone else (or someone whose endurance wasn't as enhanced as his) at the receiving end of such a forceful grip, it wouldn't be farfetched to say that said person would have had their lives snuffed out of them in seconds.

The tension in his muscle contractions would increase as he tried to offer whatever meagre resistance he could pass, bidding to delay the inevitable. He knew very well his strength was only so-so and that sooner or later it would fail him, but it was amazing how far one's mental power could carry one and this much was evident in the boy's reluctance to kowtow to the domineering might of the giant. Crunching/cracking noises leapt out and suffused the vicinity. The origin of such disheartening noises was none other than the thoracic cavity of the blonde shinigami and what they signaled at; the amount of ribs he possessed had been dropped by one, two or probably more. A habitual occurrence in written, verbal or animated fiction remained that the protagonist by some miraculous intervention of the gods cheat death, and escape the malevolent clutches of their villainous counterparts, but this was no fairytail! Seraph truly was on the verge of kicking the proverbial bucket were this brutal treatment to persist.

Just when Seraph was at the junction of conceding, believing all hope to have been lost, a voice from an unidentified entity would prey on his awareness. Beckoning him to be strong.

"Don't falter!" echoed the unseen speaker in a serious tone.

It stunned him (Seraph) briefly. However, skepticism surfaced and he quickly attributed the sudden motivational voice and its owner to be nothing but a gimmick crafted by his fragmented imagination, due to his subconscious unwillingness to accept the fact that today was the day death finally acquainted herself with him. Albeit, the same voice from before sprang out from within his mindscape once more, puzzling Seraph further.
He questioned the speaker as to his identity and how he could dwell in his thoughts, only for "the voice" to respond saying that seraph and himself were one and the same. "I am you and you are me." chuckled the speaker. The voice was even clearer than the first time Seraph heard it.

He was about to demand the meaning behind such words before being interrupted by a sudden change in the scenery of his bleak/formless mental domain; Seraph abruptly found himself at the epicenter of a thick, green and lush forest with ample vegetation on its floors. The forest basked in the silvery radiance of a crescent moon that hung, as if by a string, in the sky, which flared vigorously with an aurora. Within this forest lied two souls, one was the blonde shinigami and the other_a purple haired, Caucasian boy with a piercing cerulean glint in his eyes. The boy dorned a simple, white, long sleeve tshirt that halted before his navel and black baggy pants that were stuffed into evenly pigmented boots. At the time, the boy descended from the tree branch he stood a top. Landing gently with his right foot first and his hands placed inside his pockets, the boy would cast a smile towards Seraph before out stretching his dominant hand sideways. Suddenly, a cyan miasma sizzled from the boy's hand and a golden Arabian dagger was made manifest instantly.

"Actually. I have been waiting for you" giggled the boy enthusiastically, just before he let loose a boundless oppressive might that forced the forest itself to quake dreadfully.

"If you are going to die like this and at the hands of "that person". It's better I do you in by myself." with that, the boy blurred away from view swiftly. upon arriving before Seraph his dominant hand would reverse grip the dagger it held and proceed to thrust viciously towards the left chest region of the blonde shinigami.

IN CURRENT TIME;
Merely a few seconds after Seraph was lost in trance; an omnidirectional shockwave galloped forth, with the focal point for its generation being the entirety of Seraph's body. Given that Elijah was in such close proximity with the latter, it would be considered a heaven-defying and nigh impossible feat were he to avoid it and the sudden displacement that was bound to occur as a follow-up. Hopefully, the behemoth would find himself forced a reasonable distance in the opposing direction.

If he (Elijah) bothered enough to notice visually, he should have been able to deduce that what now resided within the blonde shinigami's firm grasp was neither katana nor wakizashi. Instead, the blades being currently brandished bore a striking resemblance to daggers crafted by the Arabs. Essentially, these two golden daggers were Seraph's handy zanpakutou newly transformed.

Really sorry about the delay on this. I've had some personal business to deal with and haven't been able to devote time where I've been needed.
Elijah reveled in every crunch and crackle of Seraph''s bones. Within his vice like grasp, even the strongest of shinigami would have trouble overpowering him with sheer strength. When Elijah noticed the boy seemingly slip from conciousness, he only increased the pressure around the boys sternum, hoping to crush his bones to dust to make a point.

Elijah was surprised however, to feel a significant amount of force burst forth from Seraph. Despite the moderate injury to his person, such a blast was not enough to wrest the boy from his iron grip. Flaunting his barely controllable reiatsu, Elijah sought to snuff out all hope for the boy. While not matching the sheer quantity of the Captain's reiatsu, Elijah's was ever more malevolent. Blood and saliva dried from his gaping maw onto Seraph, who despite his awakening, threatened Elijah not in the least. The giant merely waited until he snapped the boy in half, or he recognized his predicament and yielded.

Out of thoughts and out of options, the boy could only permit himself an end he'd felt could've been averted. Perhaps this was irony's own way of having a decent last laugh as each and every one of his efforts proved futile.

Lucid was the fact that this wasn't the time or place to flaunt an ability he knew zilch about. The boy just really wasn't ready yet and whether or not that changed was up to his capacity to gain wisdom from battles hard fought and lost despite.

Seraph's vision blurs and his breathing labours. Meanwhile, the flare in his usually strong pupils seem to be a few seconds short from losing their light, Seraph retains a firm glance at the man who has broadened his horizons..
