[Combat Trial] Kira's Training

Beneath the dingy fluorescent lights, rats skittered across blood stained linoleum tile. Heavy footfalls could be heard from a fair distance away, the dragging clinks of solid steel chain not far behind it. They belonged to the current Vice Captain, Elijah Werzkoff. The building they echoed inside could quote easily be called his playground.

The building had long since been abandoned by any business. Boards across broken glass windows, nests of creatures large and small peppered the rafters and darkest depths. Elijah however l, had found a new use for it. Slung across his shoulder was a fresh corpse, meat hook stuck inside the neck as its chain drug behind the giant.

His job today would involve training a whelp how to kill. And Elijah knew no better way than to practice on a real target. Attaching the corpse to the ceiling with the chain, the former murderer awaited his new pupil.

The form of a humanoid figure silhouetted at the entrance to a medium sized building that one could, at a glance, easily describe interchangeably with the words "dilapidated", "shabby" and "abandoned".
Its windows were in a sorry state, owing to the fact that remnants of shattered glass lay on the ground beside them, and this much explained the reason behind the overlapped mahogany that was used to obscure the said windows. The nauseating aroma of a familiar substance, blood, hung over the building, as if a vicious clash that claimed the lives of several had occurred within it.
A teenage boy is noticed stepping a foot forward, in a bid to venture into the doorless entrance of the worn out building. He wore a snow white hooded jacket (Ankle length) that had shoulder pads of a deep blue colour, and due to being unbuttoned, a shihakusho was made visible underneath. Meanwhile, a katana possessing a white hilt, and a peculiar seeming star shaped guard was strapped to the left corner of his waist. This unpunctual person was no one other than Seraph, Heir to the noble Kirara. His eyes radiated a bright crimson, and imprisoned in them was a feeling of healthy curiosity that had spawn from a previously felt sensation of foreboding.
His footsteps boomed across the vicinity, pupils scrutinizing his surroundings with caution. Eventually, they came to reflect the image of a man with an overly enormous and muscular physique that could cause even the tallest of men to suffer inferiority.
However, this wasn't the only thing that drew the boy's attention, seeing as a hard to miss newly-dead person hung from the roof of the building by a steel chain, bodily fluids streaming down and daubing the tiled floor of the building deep red.

Right off the bat I have good things to say. You took note of the building I described and made an effort to describe it through the eyes of your character.

Now this will be fairly straightforward. I'm going to want to see how you handlet combat. While your performance in the Pit was nice, Rayon and I were unable to see what we could expect from combat. Elijah is a very simple character, with very clear strengths and weaknesses. I look forward to see how you do.
A child approached Elijah, a sight that made his blood boil. He had seen the boy briefly before, during the battle with Solus. But it appeared the bloodlust of the moment blinded the giant to the teenagers size. "Tiny meat creature not worth my time...not a soldier" he thought as a rat ran across the floor in front of him.

Stomping on the tail of the rodent, Elijah reached down and tightly gripped it in his massive fist. Even leaned over, he towered over his trainee, and staring the boy in the face he would growl. "You...weak like rat," he would pause to open his fist and rip the small animal in half in his monstrous jaws, "Break like rat....break like flesh. I make you better."

Pulling the enormous five foot cleaver from his waist, Elijah pointed it at the hung corpse. "You...show me how to kill!" the behemoth would shout as he gestured at the body.
"An Immovable Wall of Flesh, ever rising, until the end."

Seeing him for the first time caused Seraph to place Elijah under thorough visual scrutiny, greedily grasping every bit of detail-from to to bottom-with his eyes. As if being a Goliath of a man wasn't enough, even his garbs were just as blatantly bizarre; clusters of leathery armour platings adhered firmly to his slate grey skin (with the exception of his hands and nude, unprotected feet.) accompanied by an apron that resembled those ones butcher's wear, and most appalling of all, an oversized cleaver that boasted a blade length of 5ft strapped to his left hip.
Without a doubt, had anyone's gaze strayed in the direction of such a man, they would instantly be gripped by the sensation of an uncomfortable coldness, as a chill raced down the full length of their spine, as if they'd been splashed by a nearly completely frozen stream of water. However, seraph's response was much arbitrary to the former, seeing as the "petrified" natural reaction that he should've given the instant he saw Elijah didn't exist, but instead Seraph's eyes retained a glint of apathy and nonchalance. Even after being indirectly compared to an ant whom Elijah couldn't possibly squander a fraction of his time on, Seraph's facial expression was utterly void of emotions.
This behavior was neither deliberate, nor aimed at offending the behemoth in any way, but rather it was something unconsciously cultivated from infancy, due to an innate understanding of his nobility, and for this reason he found it annoyingly difficult to hold beings of lesser standards in high regards, much less the words that exited their mouths.
At some point, a rodent scurried past the floor in front of the behemoth, Elijah, an act that had the rodent realized would result shortly in its funeral should've forced it to retreat, although it would've already been to late for it to do so, seeing as a shade of pitch black projected on the rodent's tail, just before the sole of a humongous feet stomped, now wedging the creatures tail between the space that separated the foot, which belonged to the behemoth, from the tiled floor.
Meanwhile, Elijah half-crouched, dwarfing Seraph, despite leaning over to aggressively clasp his hand around the rodent's meagre body.
After which, he elevated the hand that held the rodent upwards, carrying it up to his mouth, but not before uttering a few incoherent words, then energetically plunging teeth-first into the rodent, such that it forced a "kkkkrunch" sound to resonate, as inevitably munching began with his monstrous jaws being put to use, while the rodent is gorily shredded into bits and pieces, dying the hand that supported such a grotesque act deep red.
Later, the behemoth reached for his exaggerated cleaver and gestured at the fresh carcass that hung from the roof of the building, pointing towards it with his outstretched cleaver, while simultaneously letting these words exit his mouth " "you....show me how to kill!" which prompted Seraph's brows to furrow, as his demeanour gains a degree of seriousness, thumb placed underneath the tsuba of his katana, a preparatory stance assumed like he'd construed what the behemoth had spoken.

Only one foul up so far and it may be my own Kira. Elijah has boots on resembling the rest of his armor. Simply hid face and hands are exposed.

Other than that, I'm impressed so far. You took the initiative to not only read my profile, but apply what you learned to this trial. Currently your only problems are language and grammar, your head is definitely in the right place.
The boy seemed nonplussed by Elijah's feral nature, only changing his facial expression when battle was implied. Merely swinging his cleaver through the swinging carcass as If it were butter he spoke again, "You...cut me...if you can!"

Turning his back to the trainee, Elijah would grab the chain that held half of the dead body and rip it from the ceiling. It's entrails dropped to the floor with the force of Elijah's strength, splattering into a pile of organs, blood, and bones.

Lurching back to face Seraph, Elijah would swing the chain to try and wrap it around Seraph's waist. If the boy didn't dodge the metal chain, Elijah would pull him within arms reach and headbutt him.

He witnessed the behemoth cleave clean through the dangling corpse, chain suspended.

At the same time, the leviathan verbally urged him to "try to cut him if he could"- a demand to which Seraph's response was a stare of cold indifference. His demeanour adamant and resistant to alteration.

Subsequently, the leviathan turned, only for him to perform a swiping motion at the chain with force so intense it resulted in the innards of the carcass' plummeting to the linoleum tiles, smearing them over with a layer of splodged bodily fluids and a confused mixture of bony fragments alongside internal organs.

Later, the behemoth lurched backwards, then swung the chain held in hand at Seraph.

His pupils swayed to the corners of his eyes, vividly snatching the image of the fast-approaching chain, but instead of showcasing a want to avoid the metallic grasp of the chain that came, he remained as immobile as a mannequin, promoting the impression of a helpless prey, just before it is ensnared irreversibly by a vicious predator.

The event played out as it should've; the chain spiralled around his waist once, and at the expense of the strength residing within the leviathan's left hand, a sudden tug is enacted, forcing him to lose whatever connection the sole of his boots had with the building's tiled flooring, and eventually the entirety of his body is launched off the ground, then pulled in the direction of the behemoth.

However, the crackle of electricity would've instantly found solace amongst the fluttering noises Seraph's hair and clothing caused, meanwhile, a trail of purely golden electricity is noticed sprinting down the metal chain, all in an attempt to swallow the behemoth whole and regurgitate a terribly scorched version that not even the parent that birthed him would've been able to recognize after glancing for aeons!

Ultimately, the injurious aftermath of electrocution would've become an undeniable reality on the behemoth's body if success had been accomplished.

Nonetheless, had the behemoth managed to further the assault it had in store for Seraph, a sphere of bright blue energy would've spawned in the targeted area out of sheer impulse and raw reflex, but not before the hasty utterance of inaudible words.

It should be noted that the spherical mass of light blue energy hadn't been materialized to assume the functions of a sturdy shield, but rather it would serve to at least suffice as a makeshift airbag, although not as effective, reducing the gravity of impact the instant collision occurs...
(The spells used were Hado#11. tsuzuri raiden, and bakudo #8, seki(incantations respectively abandoned)

An observation I want you to make in future spars Kira. Be away of the type of character you're fighting against. While this move is excellent on paper, against a character like Elijah it's not your ideal choice.

A character like Elijah is a Tank, literally created to soak up as much damage as possible and outlast an opponent through stamina/durability or brute force. Think of him like Zaraki if that helps. Unless you are firmly confident he can't get his hands on you, you can escape it, or can turn it against him as you're trying to do here.
Elijah chuckled in morbid amusement as electric coursed through his arm before pulling the boy forward. The tiny captain had done the same not long ago, nearly vaporizing the behemoth with its immense reiatsu. Compared to that, this was but tickling to Elijah, and the boy would suffer. Few choices in death were worse than charging the butcher head on.

Elijah would toy with his new protégé, side stepping the cerulean orb that guarded him. This would allow Seraph to keep travelling at a considerable pace toward a crumbling tile wall. Elijah would speed the boy up on his journey by swatting the back of his shoulders with the flat of his enormous cleaver. Elijah wouldn't use enough strength to cripple the boy, but it would certainly hurt him if it connected.

The intensity of a crash noise at the southern wall within the building caused a resonance, as a brief rumble ensues.

Furthermore, the shattered tile wall erupted into a blanket of dust and debris, causing that very region to become obscure.

The dust screen began to recede little by little, but at a closer glance it shouldn't have been difficult for any visually unimpaired person to realise the humanoid silhouette that rose from the ground amidst it, and subsequent to complete dissipation, a slightly bloodied person would've met with the behemoth's line of sight.

This person was obviously Seraph, born of the Kirara; a trickle of blood strayed down his left temple and the corner of his mouth. His body grimaced and spasmed painfully, but after a mere inhale/exhale his facial expression became as tranquil as the surface of water. The depths of a noble's pride knew no bounds, and his reluctance to show his opponent the visage of a pained person was a bold testament to the fact.

The events that preceded his collision with the wall flashed across his mind's eye, exposing the nimbleness of the behemoth as it stepped to the side, avoiding contact with the bright blue sphere, then batted his shoulder using the flat of that enormous cleaver.

Eyelids prior shut reopened to expose the piercing gleam of his crimson eyes, as he relieved his katana of its bondage to a golden scabbard embellished with a Chinese dragon's figure. The blade swayed to the side, and was now held firmly in his outstretched dominant hand, but not before the occurrence of a sound that gave the auditory impression of air being sliced.

With a whisper, he beckoned the behemoth, almost condescendingly, to come at him.

Elijah growled in what would pass as laughter when the boy crashed into the wall. From the cloud of dust it's destruction, the wall let out a family of rats, squealing in panic as they fled to all corners of the room. The boy himself, emerged not long after, blood dripping from various points on his face. If anything served to lower the life expectancy of Elijah's foes, it was the sight and scent of blood.

Nostrils flared on Elijah's face, drinking in the smell of lost lifeblood, eyes rolling back in his head in utter bliss. The boy drew his katana, but Elijah barely noticed. "Boy...you will....die...." Elijah almost whispered as he rolled his neck in preparation.

Yanking the chain still firmly wrapped in his hand, Elijah would pull the beckoning Seraph toward him once more. This time, Elijah would try and grab Seraph by his face in one enormous hand, lifting him up in the air in a vice grip. If the boy tried to harm him with the blade he now wielded, the giant would parry the sword slash with the flat of his cleaver.

I thought being flung that far into a wall would loosen the chains, but it seems I thought wrong. The reason why I neglected freeing myself from them after emerging was because of that assumption ...
Elijah's widened nostrils unreservedly guzzled in the smell of fresh blood that had already begun to linger. Simultaneously, the intoxicating effects of spotting the blood of his opponent's would have become obvious, seeing as no sooner had he inhaled frantically than he was plunged into a frenzied state. At the moment, naught but one thing mattered to the behemoth - drawing out more of that which pleased his sense of smell; " Seraph's viable blood "
A struggle for dominance between rationality, and savagery seemingly took place in the behemoths head, and from the looks of it (Elijah's eyes revolving backwards), the victor had unfortunately been the former.

"You...will..die!!!"
The behemoth's coarse voice boomed, tinted by a layer of profound blood-lust.
At the yank of the steel chain held in hand, he proceeded to, once again, forcibly drag Seraph over, but how could Seraph be so absurd as to allow himself fall for this assault a second time? Seraph cursed in thought; stating the behemoth to be as muscular upstairs as he was physically. Meanwhile, he would inaudibly utter the name of a certain destructive spell, just before a whitish streak of electricity permeated his now outwardly gestured index finger, and shatters a section of the chain ahead of him, causing his descent to the floor beneath.

He crouch - lands, then spots a devilish smile.

"Bakudo number 21, Sekienton" fiercely shouted Seraph, but not before slamming his palms into the tiled ground, forcing red-coloured fumes to ooze from it upon contact, and speedily blanket the vicinity, diminishing visibility to zero.

By the time the effects of the spell wore off, Seraph would be no where in sight, leaving the behemoth to ponder his current position.
Did Seraph exit the building, and if so how was that done without his notice? If Seraph really escaped, it would've been fair to assume he'd bust through the wall behind him, leaving a gaping hole on it as evidence to his decamp. However, there wasn't any such deformity on that wall or the ones nearby.

Perhaps, some other spell was in play?

Then a simple lesson Kira, don't ever assume things in combat RP. Any details you leave out can be used against you as I did. You recovered well though.
Elijah simply grinned as the boy flew toward him, but the joy quickly passed as Seraph destroyed the chain. Moments after red smoke enveloped the room on Seraph's command.

"TINY MAN USE MAGIC?! ELIJAH HATE MAGIC!" Elijah roared as he swung his blade around wildly in the smoke. He hit nothing, and saw nothing. Absolutely furious the behemoth struck the floor, creating a substantial fissure in the tile floor.

The smoke eventually cleared, but still Elijah heard and saw nothing. Unfortunately for Seraph, Elijah could still smell him, "Tiny man can't hide!"

Dragging his weapon along the wall, Elijah walked toward where he thought Seraph was hiding. His chain drug along by his side, his guard lowered as he closed on his prey.

Exactly 20 seconds post the reddish smoke swiftly engulfing the area, visibility would've been grasped once again.

Surprisingly, Elijah's nostrils began to twitch-as though they'd caught a whiff of a certain familiar smell, and towards the origin of that smell went Elijah. His exaggerated cleaver single-handedly held out to the side, such that it impaled the wall beside him, fissuring it in the process. With the steel chain held in hand drug along the ground behind him he would slowly, but confidently, strut in the direction of the shattered southern tile wall for reasons only he knew.

Nothing out of the ordinary occurred other than the smell of fresh blood aggravating with each progressive step, yet the serenity of the environment was intact. Had Elijah proceeded to strike at the spot he "thought" Seraph was lying in wait, he would be met with empty space, eerily.

Eventually, he would come to notice that the source of the smell he'd snatched had not come from something either sentient, or standing upright , but instead it had spawned from something adhered to the wall, and at that exact point, a previously unseen cloth pinned to the tile wall would materialize out of nowhere; a white, high collar jacket having shoulder pads that were a blend of bright golden, and deep blue. It was the one Seraph had been wearing from the commencement of his banter with Elijah. The reason as to why the copper laced smell of fresh blood oozed from the jacket could've indisputably been attributed to the minute sploshes of blood smeared across certain portions of it.

The ear - stinging sound of space, and air being thorn apart would instantly resound in close proximity to the behemoth's hind side, as the devestation of the ground behind him would've inclusively hinted at the imminence of an unseen danger that seemed merely a Metre away from achieving collision, and due to the timing being planned to match with the second just before the behemoth possibly finding out that he had been hoodwinked, coupled with the fact that the only escape route his invisible assailant allowed being the front-from whence the threat came, it would've been nearly impossible to successfully accomplish evasion.

A second prior to the occurrence of the intense sound that pierced the behemoth's ears , the voice of a camouflaged speaker would've resonated at the proclamation of the wording " Hado no Sanjusan sokatsui". Afterwards, Seraph's figure would gradually materialize from thin air. At the moment, he retracted his long-since held out right hand- a bluish fiery radiance visibly emanated from that very hand, and little by little, the blue-coloured flames receded without a trace.
Seraph escaped Elijah's smell perception by daubing himself with the pungent congealed bodily fluids of the bifurcated corpse- a stench that both the behemoth and Seraph would've become oblivious to due to prolonged exposure, and by placing his bloodied jacket at his previous location, he managed to avert the behemoth's sense of smell towards a faux. From the moment he realized his blood aroused the behemoth's nostrils, he ascertained that the behemoth had a heightened sense of smell, and sought to exploit it, After all, he could smell a mere trickle of blood from that far. Please note that all this while he'd been inaudibly chanting the incantation for the hado used

One possible problem here that I need you to clear up for me Kira. I presume when you say "Inaudibly chanting", that you mean Seraph has been whispering during all of this. If that's the case then this is fine. However, if this was casted in complete silence it's an issue. Please let me know as soon as you can.
Elijah had cornered his prey, each step bringing him closed to the missing trainee. Lifting his unwieldy weapon, the giant slashed at the wall where the boys scent stank most. However, the feel of steel on flesh was absent, and no squelch accompanied the slash. Instead the boy''s clothes were pinned to the wall, dabbed in blood. "Tiny man not here? Tiny man smell here...." the leviathan thought before he was engulfed in ceruleun energy.

The roar of kidou blanketed the confused and irritated Elijah, and destroyed the entire south end of his blood soaked playground. The man himself doubled over in shock has his chain was vaporized, and his back scalded by the boy's clever trap. He'd been tricked, made the fool by a mere boy in his own environment. If the blood hadn't incensed Elijah to kill, his rage now did.

Collecting himself as smoked poured off his body, Elijah rose to his full heighy once again and turned around to face Seraph. Chunks of grey skin slid from his back, collecting in a pool of meat and blood at his feet. His breathing slightly labored, Elijah spoke, still mockingly "That all tiny man have to offer?"
"An Immovable Wall of Flesh, ever rising, until the end."

Yeah, he'd been whispering all this while
Seraph had staged the perfect play; one whose sole act comprised the one-sided battle of wits between himself, and soul society's notorious, cleaver wielding Goliath.

A heavy explosion of azured energy had battered the behemoth's rear, successively taking along with it the totality of the building's southern section.

Currently, dust particles, and the powdery remnants of the sturdy wall that once was gathered to imitate a cloud, which obscured the extent to which the behemoth-Elijah-had conceived damage. This caused the previously pockerfaced, blonde shinigami to faciallly exhibit a hint of uneasiness.

The moment passed when Elijah resurfaced the scene. His fuming back was hideously scalded, and skin crumbs slid down it, as did bodily fluids in crimson-coloured droplets, which caused patches of blood to appear all over the ground beneath him. The behemoth arose to flaunt his full height, then turned around so as to face Seraph, and without concealing his contempt for the lower leveled shinigami, he questioned as to whether Seraph had squandered every trick he had up his sleeves.

Seraph "Hmphed", and pointed at Elijah for unknown reasons, after which he widened the distance separating them by summersaulting backwards.
Upon landing toe-first, he would brandish his Katana in a reverse grip, as his pupils glazed fiercely with murderous intent.

Barbarian. come, and find out for yourself, if you dare!
Retorted Seraph in a relaxed tone.

The boy simply danced away from Elijah, hopping about like the small squishy frog. Far removed from amused at this point, the giant obliged the boys request. The trainee may of thought himself fearsome or intimidating, but Elijah was a monster with no fear and less sense. Plunging his enormous hand into the floor, Elijah pulled up a large section of the floor and lobbed it at the boy with a primal roar.

Elijah would then sheath his massive cleaver on his hip, turning back around to the frame of wall that survived due to his immense size. Grasping both sides of the wall, he would rip it from its compromised position, tossing it as if it was giant frisbee. If Seraph managed to deal with the first block of stone, the Seco d would surely suprise him.

His attempt at provocation failed. The behemoth obviously didn't place Seraph in his eyes, which was bound to change sooner or later.

He opted to root his fingers into the floor, then excavate a slab of it.
Although, effort exerted to lift it above his head was little, the behemoth bellowed still. No different from how a ferocious beast would normally intimidate its quarry before letting loose an onslaught.
Following that was the sudden fling of the large, earthen, rectangular mass towards the lower tier shinigami.

Shockingly, the moment the slab escaped the behemoth's grip, Seraph's figure would've blurred completely out of view. Prior to which the linoleum floor underneath his foot cratered and was forced to cry-out agonizingly, revealing the fixation of physical force just before a breakneck forward lunge.
That said, Seraph almost immediately materialized a short distance in front of the incoming structure, only to abruptly slide past it.
His body horizontally abreast the floor as the thrown screed breezed beyond him, missing by a comfortable margin. A feat made further achievable due to the manner that the behemoth aimed/tossed, which had set the trajectory of the slab for potentially impacting with the area from the lower tier shinigami's chest up.

The sliding motion progressed into a skid due to the excessive momentum build-up that preceded it, thus, rendering Seraph unable to come to a halt.
It wasn't that he couldn't stop, but rather he chose not to.
Reason being that, much to his disbelief, the behemoth had already ripped out the sole surviving fraction of the southern end from its base without even bothering to visually consider how the nature of the boy's countermeasure to the first assault could affect his follow up, he would've heaved yet another slab in the boy's direction.

Time somewhat looped as the second slab eventually proceeded in its predecessor's footsteps, but not before Seraph's singlehanded projection of a small, crimson-coloured energy sphere towards the behemoth's head, and if permitted to arrive at the predetermined target, it would've bathed him in a mild explosion of fierce red.

However, disregarding whether or not the sphere struck its intended mark. It should have dawned on the behemoth that something was amiss, because of the spell being utterly devoid of the destructive force it should've contained.
Time assigned for the behemoth to ponder the rationale behind the assault was made scarce, due to the mere inch gulf distancing a second crimson energy sphere (this time medium-sized) from his ankle. The sphere's chances of impact would've been heightened by the distraction that was the first. If successful, the behemoth's future mobility would be greatly affected.
The spell used-shakkaho, but with both palms. Instead of having both spheres possess equal destructive force, he made it so that the first (being a distraction was half its purpose) would potentially drop Elijah's guard towards the second, which was the real deal. Yes, he mumbled the incantation again

Elijah''s improvisation of weapon tired him little, the stone no heavier to him than an infant. Following his battlefield bellow however, was not the sound of crushed bones and sobbing meat. The boy had dodged the building bits, and was on a collision course of his own.

From Seraph''s palm, red energy coalesced and shot forth at the behemoth, Elijah. Unlike most who would have offered some form of defense or avoidance, the monster amongst men methodically walked forward. He was unfazed by the first sphere that struck his face, walking through its smoke as if struck by pillow.

Elijah's predatory grin remained as the second blast struck his ankle. He paused for but a moment to look down and see the flesh seared from his body. Merely laughing at the sight, his body still lurched forwarsld, gait still strong and footfalls heavy. If the boy had hopes to recreate the success of his previous magic, he would be sorely disappointed.

The earlier spell had been when Elijah was caught unaware, vulnerable if only as physical entity. Face to face as there were now, Elijah's flesh was tempered steel, his will nigh indomitable, and his pursuit unending. There was no escape other than death when such a gaze fell upon his foes.

Counting on the pure shock of Seraph, Elijah sought to capitalize by stomping on the boys sliding form. He would aim to plant his enormous boot in Seraph's groin, abruptly stopping the nobles movement in a most unpleasant fashion. If the attack succeeded, Elijah would then lean down and grasp both elbows in his hands and squeeze with all his might to crush the bones into powder.

The ground shuddered and boomed in accordance with the alternating descent of his giant assailant's dense foot.

Meanwhile, subsequent to the dilation of his pupils (as if he'd suddenly gained awareness of a glitch in the ongoing scenario)
Seraph abruptly thrusts downwards, dually anchoring his Zanpakuto into the ground. An act perpetrated with the sole purpose of dissuading the continuity of the uncontrollable sliding motion that he'd willingly disposed himself to.

The thought to abscond from harms way was mustered, but could not be actualized given his current body positioning, coupled with the fact that the behemoth had already began a hasty dash in his direction- thereby, shortening not just the distance that demarcated them, but also the time frame it would've taken for Seraph to be within his reach.
As fate would have it, the behemoth's attempted stomp crashed heavily, forcing the ground to concave, and cracks to spread in the same fashion as a perfectly woven spiderweb.
Rock powder seeped out of the fissured flooring, blurring view of the squished innards, and splattered guts of the scathed blonde shinigami.

However, the turn out of events would prove contrary to the aforementioned. Forget bodily fluids and grotesquely mashed innards, there was virtually no tangible evidence that the behemoth's boot had landed on anything other than the linoleum.
In fact, the victim of the attempted stomp was apparently spinning sideways, later coming to halt a short distance to the side of the behemoth's foot with the longer of his daisho gripped in reverse, as if previously used.

A replay of the moment before the behemoth's foot fell would later expose his impulsive spin to the right, just in time to avoid being impacted on. Alongside his rapid revolution, he had yanked his Katana from the ground, and utilizing the force of the spin he would've prompted a sword slash fixated at the leg that dared to attempt such an inhumane act.
If successful, a fine spray of blood will, in current time, blossom from the diagonal gash, as the blade held in Seraph's dominant hand would become smeared with reddish bodily fluids.

Seraph knelt completely with one leg, and partially with the other.
While his left hand, fingers widely apart, was placed on the ground, his right one retained a firm grip of a sword (with a white hilt, and a star shaped guard) which had been impaled into the ground slightly.

"back then, If I hadn't noticed the oddities in his behavior after the spell battered his ankle....I would be dead by now.
I was careless to believe a depowered spell....strong enough to be effective against his sturdy body"

Thought Seraph to himself, while gnashing his teeth.

"This makes twice I've escaped a dire situation with sheer reflex and great innate speed....."
He lets out a sigh of relief, then glares in the behemoth's direction

Elijah did not feel the crunch of a weak body beneath his boot, an increasingly common occurrence in this training exercise. The boy was nothing if not nimble, but he had displayed not nearly enough offense to stop the giant. Linoleum crumbled into dust, as a small spray of blood stained the remains. For most this would drop them to a knee or be cause for alarm. However, Elijah was unshaved and unhindered.

Seraph''s retreat again put him out of Elijah''s grasp. Staring at the boy, Elijah''s nostrils flared, skin still sloughing off his back. "Still weak like rat...still it good enough", he would growl as he drew his massive cleaver once again. Reaching down with his free hand, he would rip up another section of floor. This time it would not be a weapon, but a makeshift shield to supplement his already substantial defense.

"Tiny man cut me down!" Elijah would command as he struck the stone shield he made with the flat of his blade. The giant knew the boy had to come to him, where his inexperience would be his downfall.

He had gotten accustomed to having his bubbles burst every now and again by a fine showing of exaggerated damage tolerance, so the unwavering figure of the colossal entity within his line of sight, despite the slant skin-deep gash dealt to his lower limb, wasn't surprising in the least.

Suddenly, the giant let loose a mighty roar, after which he drew that enormous and nasty looking cleaver of his, then proceeded to bend down, and direct his dominant hand, fingers stretched apart, towards the ground in a fashion Seraph found too familiar.

However, before he accomplished what was sought after (rooting his fingers into the tiled floor) Seraph arched his brows, whilst uttering in thought "Not that ag_", only for the entirety of his body to totally fade away from view, but not before a brief moment of gradually becoming transparent, like it wasn't even tangible or corporeal. Meanwhile, two seconds prior to Seraph's abrupt disappearance, the whisper-like whoosh of a mild gust would've immediately found shelter in the giant's ears, and had effort been made to ascertain the source of such sound, the image of a katana being swung diagonally by a blonde shinigami suspended in midair would collapse on his retina and in less than a second from that instant, said image would've tripled in size, conveying that the real deal was supposedly a needle's length away from achieving collision, and were it to (do this) a slant gash would appear on the region an inch below the shoulder to which the giant's cleaver wielding appendage was attached, as eventually bodily fluids blossom from the point of contact between the reiatsu sharpened blade and flesh, if the giant's skin could even be addressed with the word.

The likelihood of the assault on the behemoth succeeding should've been augmented coincidentally (or not) by not just the deceit in the notion that seraph was still standing in front of him, which should've hindered the thought that he was endangered or his leant posture and its subtle toll on his damaged ankle, but also the unusual blade length of the brandished cleaver that would affect, if anything, the effectiveness of a zanjutsu inclined response to an attack that occurs in close quarters such as the one performed by the blonde shinigami.
